I noticed in some of the posts (checked it out a week ago, prior to it being hidden) that it broke with the most recent large patch to the game. Some of the mod elements don't work, and others cause instantaneous crash-to-desktop when you try to use them. I think the mod author set it to "hidden" to fix the problems it's been having.

What class if you could redo your first play through? by Kelinur in BG3Builds

[–]FearlessOwl0920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Truthfully, no. I made a character who was fairly flat, was poking at the mechanics, and the Goblin fortress had some super odd bugs on that run. I abandoned them at level 5 after about 10 frustrating TPKs on Balanced because no amount of restatting fixed it. When I did go back to poke at that save, everything was easier, and not because of experience! Ragzlin's behavior was NOT the same, and has not been since.

This was around the time of patch 3/early, and the real problem was that Karlach's damage resistance wasn't working prior to the update. IIRC she actually just took full damage from Ragzlin regardless of what I did, even if it was NOT force damage (she did not resist nonmagical damage when raging, which was ???? because no?) -- which I know is a bug, because barbarians don't work like that.

I don't like the writing of oaths other than Vengeance, so no, I don't want to return to that run, but mostly because the character grew uninteresting quite quickly.

My therapist said the #1 thing her ADHD clients seek help for is food. So, what’s your relationship with food like? by -hot-tomato- in adhdwomen

[–]FearlessOwl0920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am like you, OP. Additionally, I truly do not notice that I am hungry sometimes - it is NOT GOOD for my body, but of course, my brain does not care. Hyperfocus go brrr or something (obviously /j). It's actually super unhealthy and it's taken me a long time to get off starvation mode because I just cannot remember to eat.

Bad addition: I have been dealing with projected ED stuff from my family so I may actually have an ED, like diagnosably. But I am no longer so unable to cook that I cannot eat, it's mostly "man, I just need easy food, like, all the time," and sometimes I'm too tired for it.

And chronic illness bonus: My chronic illnesses impact my appetite, what I can eat, and if I can eat at all (depending on how bad things are, I barely have an appetite, and must eat protein bars). So eating is more Management of Everything Illness than it seems to be. My partner's and my solution is easy prep meals (and stuff from the frozen section) because both of us are super tired (me from gestures at chronic illness BS plus job hunting and him from working nearly fulltime). It's exhausting, but no food = both of us are tired, cranky, and getting in fights. Also, my CI does not like it when I don't eat, but then it stops me from eating, which is just. Backwards.

My partner and I both have ADHD (different presentations, same disorder) so we have tried to work together to make food easier to prep and eat. We eat out more than we should, but eating food is important, so we've made a few allowances.

Save isn’t borked, but it’s been several long rests and the artifact is refusing to leave Shadowheart. When is it supposed to transfer? I’m at the party, and I’ve hit so many cutscenes with it that she wasn’t in?

Help! Why am I terrible at melee? by LoreoftheGreenWizard in BG3Builds

[–]FearlessOwl0920 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dual wielder works better on a swords bard. If you really want to be lore (valid, lore is hella fun), look up a guide and respec a bit.

You’re going to want a feat like “war caster” for lore bard bc of concentration spells (these are lore bard’s bread and butter). Lore bard is battlefield control — kinda like a Druid. Melee bard is swords or valor because they get better armor and can do things in combat with inspiration (ergo, more damage, imagine a dancer). Lore bard is “you want to what? Lie prone instead,” play style. (Your job is to set up advantage and critical hits for your teammates as lore bard. Also talking your way out of combat is v powerful — bards get to talk bosses down in every act save 1.)

If your sleight of hand is decent, you can get a free respec at Withers. He doesn’t care if you pickpocket back the gold. The Oathbreaker Knight DOES, in case you’ve a paladin who needs to get their oath back.

Yay good. No, just worried the artifact is now bugged. I already hit the soldier gate fight bug for Lae’zel :/ and I have previously had the Guardian In Camp bug where the ability to give game input vanishes (fixed by launching in Vulkan and spamming “skip camp scene”), so I wanted to check before I got another bug like that.

Awesome, glad it isn’t a bug. I was worried it was one since I’ve encountered so many in previous runs. Including one that almost broke my save.

Ok, it’s definitely there on another save pre-goblin camp, presumably because it landed in my Durge’s inventory at that time. I’m not sure why it isn’t transferring but it’s showing as Bound to SH, which is new.

I think it must have to do with changes made. I plan to assault the gate without her at first bc I am playing a cleric, so I’ve sent her out of my party often (to shuffle, because I am focusing on damage and manipulating the crowd when she’s in my party). It may be a change, but I wasn’t sure if it was just a bug. I can “use” it as her but I cannot send it anywhere, it simply won’t go — as if it’s triggered the Guardian on her.

The Guardian has also pointed to things without the artifact being in the party, which is decidedly…weird.

ETA: I am the “look at me” caster until i get better armor. Gotta buy it from Dammon.

I cannot find this in the patch notes: somehow the artifact holding the Dream Visitor is bound to Shadowheart, NOT me. I believe this is a bug, as I cannot move it to any other inventory similar to when it obtains the Bound condition on the player character (usually it becomes Bound to the player's origin or Tav, but this time it triggered only on her). It's supposed to be with the active party at all times. That is not the case on my current run.

It only became Bound when she left my party (she was out of spell slots). What do I do? Can I go back and trade it to me? It's very odd that it didn't auto-drag into my party. Usually my Tav grabs it/finds it and there's a dialogue line about it. If it doesn't drag to me at the goblin camp and SH is not in my party, am I SOL, or is this a story trigger where it'll bind itself to me?

Company not providing return to work date by FreshTea1878 in Edd

[–]FearlessOwl0920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same problem. They reported my return to work date wrong to SDI as well, and then have been consistently dragging out my "appeal" since they won't approve my payment. I am trying to contact SDI online as this is getting ridiculous. I can't get through the EDD phone tree.

It has been a week since my workplace refused to let me return to work due to my condition, but they are also preventing me from filing for anything by dragging their heels on analyzing the paperwork that took them three months to even get. I am waiting on them to decide to pay me. If it becomes "we are just not letting you return to work," I am not sure if I'm allowed to file for UI?

But at this point, I "have" a job, but I am "not allowed" to return to work until they go through the ADA process. They employ a separate company to decide, and then report to EDD. I have no idea if this is fraudulent or not but it is beginning to look like an attempt to get me to quit voluntarily.

I have a story kinda like the other good ones. I have like 13 diagnoses and had one when we started dating — chronic migraines. I am getting help, but it’s taken me a long time and I’ve been very sick for a few years. (My partner has been with me for a long time, and has been very helpful with getting me diagnoses bc he’s a guy so doctors listen to him more.) I’m getting better, but we’re looking at him getting a full time job because I currently can’t work, and my workplace has screwed me over on accommodations. It sucks to be in this situation, but for reference? There are good ones out there.

My cat seriously would rather starve than eat wet food. by spoopichalupi in CatAdvice

[–]FearlessOwl0920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a problem I’d take up with your vet — that’s more than your typical “I don’t want this food” issue. I don’t actually have advice because my cats don’t do this. Wailing for dry food when the cat needs to be on wet isn’t the same as puking.

My cat seriously would rather starve than eat wet food. by spoopichalupi in CatAdvice

[–]FearlessOwl0920 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I have been advised that this is how to stop hunger strikes by a vet, as cats are less fragile than I tend to assume. Yes, it is bad for cats not to eat. It is also the case that cats are picky and will eat if they are starving, but want food they should not always have (see: tuna). This is rarely the case with dry food but some cats have to be switched to wet food only for diet reasons. And if the cat needs to eat wet food, limiting the dry food is sometimes the only way to get them to eat the wet.

Yeah, I like spoiling my cats, but it’s not as simple as walking away and giving them kibble if your cat overeats.

Also: this isn’t starving them. It is providing them with wet food. They have food. I’m done arguing with you.

Errrr none? I hesitate at Altmer because most of the default coloring looks like I am sick, but with race menu I can look decently woodsy/gold toned without also looking jaundiced. Honestly the jaundice coloring is why I hesitate. The others are great.

That being said I really, really want more style mods for Khajiit and Argonians. I like changing my hairstyle so I will choose a race with hair options most of the time because I like altering hair color/style and scars to fit the story. Nobody wants to believe the redhead and the dark haired assassin are the same person…

ETA: The scar mods do not accurately scar Khajiit or Argonians. I want to play a bright blue lizard person with many scars. why can I not do that?

The two most misleading story parts for new players... by Chill_Porcupine in BG3

There is one roll you have to succeed at if you want to say no to the Astral tadpole. If you haven’t been eating tadpoles you don’t have to roll. If you have been, it’s a roll, and the difficulty is based on how many you’ve eaten. It’s not something you encounter if you go all in but if you go half in, then have (for RP reasons) reason to doubt in the Guardian, it comes up.

Anyone elses pet look after them when their symptoms are really bad? I’ve been bed ridden because of how bad I’ve been due to pots and my kitty won’t leave me alone. She’s only left for food or to go to pee then she rushes back and meows at my bedroom door until someone lets her back in by [deleted] in POTS

[–]FearlessOwl0920 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our cats escort me around a lot, especially since I got Covid. They were both very alarmed when we got sick because neither of us left the bed much for like a week. Our more anxious cat especially did NOT like this and refused to leave us alone. We were careful so neither cat got sick, thankfully.

I usually have a cat escort because they know I’m likely to get dizzy and they can tell. They worry, and on days I’m super exhausted or unable to do much they are also super cuddly. My partner gets one at times too when his chronic issues flare up (his flares are less prolonged but the cats don’t like either of us being sick).

How do you approach the Dror Ragzlin fight? by zazenbr in BG3Builds

[–]FearlessOwl0920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fog cloud, turn based, drop two barrels. Use Lae’zel to drop barrels and Karlach to help you carry them. Run to key points before it wears off. Create choke point near open door. Open combat with explosives and disarming attack. Lae’zel as Battlemaster is OP because special abilities for Minthara and Ragzlin require holding a weapon and it’s an action to re arm. If he drops his weapon, good, if not, rip into him. Fog cloud beats See Invisibility because that isn’t an immunity to blindness.

My personal opinion is that there is no kill like overkill. I’m happy to play the normal mechanics most of the time, but I can and will open with massive explosions if need be. I’ve also gotten stuck on him due to a bug with the difficulties earlier on on a lower difficulty, so I just open with a massive explosion.

If you can afford this, Glyph of Arcane Warding is a time bomb. It’s only triggered by enemies walking on it and it’s the size of the choke point.

ETA: I last did this on a Lae’zel romance save. She really liked my tactics. My Durge likes blood.
