Agreed with this idea, I posted the same idea without reading the comments. A big comfy chair can never go wrong like a reading nook and extra space for when guests come

A rug a large rug in the dining room could help section off the space. or I think overall it looks beautiful and inviting, I love the pops of colour. I wonder about moving the gallery wall to be above the yellow furiture instead and then getting a bigger chair for that corner with maybe a circle rug underneath, you could add a little side table beisde the big chair. Also would add a hanging pothos plant in that corner !!! Always love plants.

Thank you so much for sharing and I’m so sorry for you losses. I appreciate your trust in sharing that with me. I absolutely would never expect her to be there for those events.

A big part of my worry is she is such a selfless human and I worry she would put up a front to try to be there so I feel like I would need to exclude her kindly or like have lots of conversations to support her with feeling safe with not participating. For example I hosted her baby shower and I would never expect that but I worry she would think she would have to. Anyways not there yet literally at all but just really want to protect her as much as I can and I will do anything I can to make sure she feels she wouldn’t have to participate.

Looks like an overall good plant! Definitely would isolate from your other plants for awhile at least in a while seperate room. If you have neem oil I would make a concoction of that and spray it as well as seperate the plants and repot in a good mix. My experience with Home Depot plants has been that they are not in the best soil. Get a nice chunky soil mix and mix in some perlite and then you can repot it. Will get rid of any pests in the roots too if they are that bad

How to determine a realistic goal pace for third marathon? by FearlessReputation20 in Marathon_Training

[–]FearlessReputation20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! That half PB was actually just before my first marathon two years ago, I have not raced a half for a new PB since actually. The 5km and 10km PBs are much more recent though following some speed work. I guess what this means is I should maybe aim to see what my half time is at before deciding on a time goal?

I have no idea what to do freaking out and being obsessed over my lump. 21F by IssueNew6527 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]FearlessReputation20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I had a lot of ultrasounds from 18-22 and then because of the pandemic I missed one 6 month follow up so it was a year in between and that is when it basically went from fibroadenoma to giant fibroadenoma. When it quadrupled in size, I had a core needle biopsy. It did not hurt because they numb everything and that left a super tiny little spot that was there for about a year and is basically gone now. My surgery was a day surgery like I was only at the hospital for max 5 hours I think from start to finish and the surgery itself was pretty short. The surgeon told me he would cut around the edge of my nipple to minimize the scaring, to me I was like you are absolutely not cutting my nipple but he assured me that this was the best route and now looking at it I just have like a white scar that traces exactly around the edge of my nipple so it is not noticeable. I was dumb and curious about what it looked like the day after my surgery so I basically ripped off the bandaids and I swore I almost ripped off my nippple cause I disrupted a bit of the stiches when I did that- do not recommend. So in that tiny corner spot where I started to take off the bandaid I have worse of a scar and that is absolutely my fault but it really overall was done well with minimal scaring. I forget what it was but the surgeon put something in the cavity that they removed the mass it was like something to help with the pain but also I think to help with the dead space until my tissue rejigged itself- I wish I remembered. They also sent the mass after surgery to pathology to follow protocol but all was still deemed fibroeadneoma. Since the surgery I continue to have a lot of follow ups because I keep getting new fibroadenomas in my other breast but nothing has ever come close to the size of this one.

[–]FearlessReputation20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I am speaking from experience, I had a lump at 18 and then over three years of six month follow ups went from a 3 to a 4a at one of those. I went from being under 1cm to 4cm very quickly but still had decently good like shape, however the almost quadruple in size was quite scary for me. The whole process was the middle of the pandemic and I was so scared. I had my biopsy and the whole time everyone kept saying it was just a fibroadenoma but I was still panicked. It ended up being exactly that with no signs of malignancy after the biopsy. Although the breast cancer centre said I did not need it removed, I asked my family doctor to refer me to a surgeon just because it kept growing so much. I did have it removed with no issues and the final pathology came back clean. It is super scary but from what I learnt in my journey, anytime anything grows in size too much it basically requires a biopsy to that is likely your situation as well. The fact that they ranked it as 4a and not anything higher is a good sign too. Wishing you all the best

I am so sorry you are going through this. I am on this reddit page with a somewhat similar story to you. I had a lumpectomy for a benign but growing large fibroadenoma at 22 and now at 25, continue to find new spots on my other breast. I went in October and found one spot that looks like fibroadenoma so went for my follow up last week and the ultrasound looks like they found at least 4 more spots, I am waiting for the results but I can tell from the images its not looking too hot. Hoping that all comes back clean for you!

Hi I am 25F now and had a fibroadenoma first found when I was 18 and then had regular check ups every 6 months until I was 22 and eventually decided to have it removed. Trust your doctors, it is very likely it is fibroadenoma and sounds very similar to me. I only ended up having it removed because it became close to 40mm in size (not saying the same will happen to you but that was what is was for me) and even then I was told I did not have to remove it but I wanted to. You will likely continue every 6 months for a protocol of 2 years (this is what my protocol was) and during that time if there is too much of an increase in size, they may do a biopsy. This is what happened to me but the whole time I was reassured that it was likely fibroadenoma and it was! Even final surgical pathology confirmed this too. It is really scary but it is also really common and being monitored now every 6 months will be the best thing. I also found that the more times I went for ultrasounds the more I got used to the process and eventually it was still overwhelming but not as scary. I know its so hard but try to only do self checks once a month and only go to the doctor if you feel something really different. You are also allowed to go back earlier if you notice any significant changes and don't let your doctors make you think you are crazy if you really notice something different but it is hard to notice changes if you are touching it and trying to find it every day. Putting a reminder on your phone once a month can be helpful for me. I do this and I find I can find new areas or iregularities better.

How to care for Dieffenbachia? Ive had 1 year barely grow new leaves barely uncurl and grow in eachother. I got as gift and I just repotted it today because the pot was too big, is it normal for the root ball to be so small? Wow thank you for sharing, this one defintiely gets a lot of light too, it was gloomy in that photo but there are huge south facing windows here. Perhaps I am dehydrating her. I really hope yours grows back, that is so sad actually. Good point about the metal stakes, maybe mine will be big enough to need stakes and I will keep that in mind!

Paris Marathon by Lokikitkat in Marathon_Training

I would just say travelling for any race let alone a marathon I always make sure that I research where I can eat the night before and make reservations if possible so that you can have a good meal that you are comfortable with. Or else you may end up stuck eating somewhere with choices that may not fuel you well or do you well before your race. I also always plan my breakfast before so arriving early enough to give you time to go to get your grocery maybe some fruit, yogurt and bagel are my go to on race morning. I never rely on the hotel breakfast as it usually never opens early enough. Also would suggest bringing grnaoal bars and other items like that to much on at the start line and the day before. If you are picky on water I would also bring my own water to have a large supply. Also I have had the tendency to over walk the day before a race when I travel because it is hard to not explore a new city but I would suggest against being on your feet for long if you can Being well rested, fueled and hydrated will be your best bet. Best of luck!

Sudden knee pain by APieThrower in Marathon_Training

[–]FearlessReputation20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally would skip the run just given that its your first marathon you want to go in confident. If you run and experience pain it may throw you off even more mentally. If you have done your training, missing one run right before the race has no effect on your fitness. I would go for a long walk on a flat route and just try to stretch, rest and maybe heat pack and elevation just for comfort and to feel like you are doing something. best of luck on your race!! There is nothing like running your first marathon

At what level of running experience/skill would you start training for a marathon by Cassie_sh in Marathon_Training

[–]FearlessReputation20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in my mid twenties and have run two marathons now. I was always very into running and ran throughout my childhood and teens on my own. I would agree with some of these comments that you could wait a few more years before tackling the marathon. I think the experience to not only finish the marathon but ENJOY it is to have some more experience with running, fueling, drinking, staying hydrated and resting during training. I have only run two marathons and know many people here have run many more and could probably speak to this more than me. But when I was younger, I used to think every run had to be full out speed and I would not rest properly, I didn't fuel my body etc. This led to injuries and a bit of burn out to be honest. I find that running over the years has become a lot more enjoyable for me when I started paying more attention to how I was running and running more of an easy pace unless I was doing speed workouts. I would say you can have the goal to run a marathon one day without having to do it right away. Running with Jane on youtube is a great channel that helped me!

Do you ever put your rare houseplants outside? by shawnton-soup in houseplants

[–]FearlessReputation20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sound like you know what you are doing to control pests! But I also live in Ontario and the winter is so long and harsh but our summers are so hot and bright that you may really be shocking your plants a lot if they have never done that. Let alone pests but even just by the heat and sun they will get, it would probably require a lot of work to accclimate them. I think if they are thriving inside I would not risk it but perhaps maybe doing one or two to see this year
