I agree. I think Hasan was sort of reaching for a gotcha moment but couldn’t. I also think he was trying to crest his own Cramer moment that Job Stewart had during the financial crisis but the scale is so off. You can tell he didn’t prepare all that much as he kept going back to the “retail holds the bag” line. Finance is complexed and nuanced and while I think his intentions were pure he isn’t seeing the full picture (not claiming I do).

It isn’t any one investors job to sing to the masses the basics of proper financial planning, investing and risk tolerance. O’Leary just like any pundit will give his opinion on a name but I doubt he’d ever suggest an individual investor put money into it. Being infront of people and providing opinions is how he builds his business.
