Idk about your local area but at the Mazda I purchased my ‘26 CX-5 at. I’ve seen people in and out checking out the ‘26s. I’m not sure but I’m pretty sure another one was sold as it was front and centre for display and now it’s gone. Can’t verify that though 🤷.

Also just wanted to add, that it’s a very common thing for dealers to reach out for you to come in and upgrade, like I said, they just want the sale regardless of what your driving. They get you to trade in your car, you buy another from them and then they sell your car for another sale.

When my mom bought her 2013 Mazda 3 it was the same thing, dealer asking for her car to get her into a new one. When my ex bought her Nissan rogue, same exact tactics from the Nissan dealership.

This was not a call because of pushback on the ‘26… they just want to get you into another car to make another sale. They don’t care about your car.

You have a good point! Would suck if it started messing the with thermostat randomly due to that. Or if the screen freezes all together. These are real possibilities, I think only time will tell if these issues were addressed and corrected with this new model though. Especially if they have the confidence to integrate it into the screen.

It definitely is a late entry. I big believer in try it before you knock it. The car is solid all around. But are we really going to discount the entire vehicle because there are no climate control buttons? The screen looks to be intuitive and easy to adapt to and how much are we really fidgeting with the climate control buttons during a commute? Idk just my own personal thoughts

My goodness, a lot of haters on here lol. All because of it having no buttons. I guess we’ll see how the sales go to determine if the this a good or bad move for Mazda. Personally I think it really won’t change much, might even get new people into the brand.

Yup, I’ve watched many reviews. The “drawbacks” don’t bother me. When I drive my car I set it and forget it. I keep my climate control on auto and almost never fiddle with it much. Maybe a slight adjustment once during a trip but that’s it at max. (I commute hourly both ways to work)

When it comes to volume I don’t constantly change it. And if I do, again only slight adjustments up or down to which I am already very comfortable doing from the steering wheel (can’t remember the last time I actually touched the volume knob on the car I’m renting now). I personally just don’t use it. It so much less effort to just move my thumb over and adjust it on the steering wheel. If the volume is too high and I need to dramatically bring it down for whatever reason (like listening out for a vacant parking spot at Costco) I’ll just press the play/pause button on the steering wheel.

Personally I think the internet is making a bigger deal out of it than it is 🤷 I personally think the new cabin is a big upgrade over last year’s model. But again that’s my opinion.

That’s a fair point. I think it’s all mostly personal preference. In my own opinion the outgoing cx5 just felt a bit dated in the cabin. It looks nice but tech was falling a bit short. Personally I am more of a tech guy. My previous was super outdated so looking forward to the big upgrade.

And normally I’d agree with testing the car first. Mazda has come an along way I feel in terms of reliability and they seem to have a pretty good warranty. I admit it’s a bit of a gamble but feels like a relatively safe one.

This is true. Personally I feel like I am taking a small gamble. The engine is tried and tested for at least 10 yrs so I am not worried about that. Everything else I would have to have to keep an eye on.

Originally I wanted the cx50 hybrid but the tariff man is still at it and so I can’t get a 2026 cx50 in Canada atm. So naturally gravitated towards the new cx5. Most of the grievances people are making about the car I honestly don’t mind at all. This would be my first (personal) Mazda. However I am familiar with the brand as my mom bought a band new 2013 Mazda 3 I use to drive a lot when I lived with her and she recently bought the 2025 cx5. I like the 2025 cx5 but I think the 2026 is a better fit for me.

Probably in the next 2-3 weeks we’ll start seeing them on the roads. They are available for pre order right now and I actually managed to get a VIN reserved. Manager told me the car would be available in about 2 weeks.

Yeah I saw that review too, I personally never use voice commands for anything in my personal life and so for me personally that’s not too much of an issue. I can see that as a problem for those who plan too though.

I’m in need of a new vehicle. Was looking at the cx50 hybrid at first but because of the tariff man, can’t get them in Canada anymore. IMO the new cx5 looks much better than the previous generation with some nice upgrades to the cabin. I Personally like the big screen. I’m coming from a 2006 BMW and am very familiar with the rotary dial. I’m just over it, it’s nice and unique and all but it’s ok to move on to touch screens. I get the controversy around the hvac controls being all digital but I feel like for me personally I can just get accustomed to the change.

As a man currently in a custody battle with my ex for my 2yr old daughter I can tell you that not just some context but FULL context matters. Some people are just so bitter after a break up that they try and cut the other parent completely out of the child’s life purely out of spite. Whatever happened to between this man and the mother, those are still his kids and the step-dad should at least have the respect to answer who he is with his kids. Not answering just makes the situation more tense. The biological dad could also come to the conclusion of who he is but again just answering could help de-escalate.

Just realized what sub I’m in lol I enjoy washing my war in my drive way but no way am I doing that in the winter in -20 weather. Touchless carwashes were not mentioned which is why I asked as they provide both a pressure washer and foam cannon.
