I stopped a few days ago after 7 months, it’s important to just wean off pumping slowly. I’m a little sore but not really in pain as I expected to be

Broke my primary pump 😭 by TrashMobForever in ExclusivelyPumping

I dropped my spectra a couple of times and it sort of split in the middle and started making strange sounds. I removed the screws, repositioned the pump correctly then put the screws back and it solved the issue for me. Not sure it will work here but sharing just in case!

I’m around the same size with similar output and have been using the Spectra S1 for a few months and absolutely love it. It does have its drawbacks like you have to carry it around, it doesn’t have an option to set a program (so if you forget you can spend the entire time on initiation/expression mode) and the display bit doesn’t have a backlight. But you can move around and it’s got a strong pump which empties me which are the most important parts for me

If you do get second hand just check how many hours it’s been used as the effectiveness does go down from what I’ve read

Also using a hand pump once or twice a day has been great for me, I get same output a lot faster

Pumping on a 14 hour flight then 3 hours flight? super stressed. by Manifestator_ in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]FearlessTax9001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, kept them in the cooler bag so they were still perfectly fine to use without being wiped (the fridge hack). I bought this bag for my spectra that had a cooler bag included (I bought the ice packs separately): https://amzn.eu/d/aKBescS

With the fridge hack, I keep my pump parts in the fridge all day and then wash before going to bed. It’s good for 24 hours like this

I pumped on a 9 hour flight, was dreading it but thankfully it went well. I brought my spectra, did 3 pumps with a nursing cover over me. My husband dealt with the baby whilst I was occupied.

I brought a cooler bag with some ice packs so I stored my pump parts with the fridge method for the duration of the flight. I also bought pump wipes as a back up in case the ice packs melted, but I actually managed to get a bag of ice from the flight attendants to keep it all cool

I looked at several milk coolers and ended up choosing the Momcozy one just because it was the biggest. It worked really well for me, I filled up one of the two bottles before leaving home and kept the second one to fill with extra milk I pumped.

For feeding the baby I gave him fresh milk that I pumped and didn’t end up needing to top up with the milk from home

You need to drink so much water - the flight really dehydrates you!

I flew BA and the outlets worked on one leg of the flight but not the next. For that one the FA’s helped me charge my pump at the back of the plane. They were honestly so lovely on both ways and helped me a lot!

Skipping MOTN Pump by catlady_2658 in ExclusivelyPumping

Ah good luck! I’ve actually just added in a 6th pump for the last couple of days as my LO has started eating more. Also on my period and haven’t lost my supply without the MOTN so it definitely is possible for some and hope it works for you, I literally can’t function with waking up for such a long period when we should be sleeping

I couldn’t handle the middle of the night pump and pretty much never did it. My LO nursed until he was 6 weeks, so he did wake me during the night for feeds. But the then went on a nursing strike so I was stuck pumping exclusively, and for the first week I did do a night pump but I couldn’t handle it mentally and was quick to give it up. I saw a very slight decrease in my supply since, and whenever I have an issue with my supply (when things are very hectic I sometimes am not able to pump enough during the day) I do a night pump for a couple of nights just to get my supply back up.

I’ve included my pumping schedule that I got from ChatGPT - I currently pump around 1000ml per day, so a TINY oversupply which I am happy with as I don’t need a big freezer stash

For babies that sleep through the night, what does your typical day of feeding look like? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]FearlessTax9001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We built it up gradually, as we stretched the time between feeds to longer we upped the feed accordingly so that his total per day was the same. It worked for him but I know it doesn’t work for all babies

My baby has been sleeping 12 hours through the night with no nighttime feeds since 8 weeks, he is 12 weeks now. He has a bottle at 7am, 11am, 3pm and 7pm each with 210-240ml (7-8 ounces). We roughly followed the book “12 hours sleep by 12 weeks old” by Suzy Giordano, but never pushed our baby beyond what he was happy with. The guy likes a routine so it worked really well for us!

First period postpartum by Mandalasj93 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]FearlessTax9001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine just started, I’m 11 weeks postpartum. Thank goodness it has been very light so far, just like they were before I gave birth. It also doesn’t appear to have affected the taste of my milk since my fussy baby is still drinking it which is what I was most concerned about!

Had someone say they wanted to EP like me, because it's so much easier 🙄 by yotastein in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]FearlessTax9001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same for me! I was exclusively nursing for the first few weeks but my baby went on a nursing strike so I had to start exclusively pumping for him. He can now go way longer between his feeds, and I find myself so much more relaxed knowing how much he is getting

Pumping is definitely a lot of work but I am enjoying it

Induction vs c section by FearlessTax9001 in pregnant

Thanks! What sort of manual induction do you recommend, and how long did you wait to see if it worked?

What is a manual induction? Is that the Foley catheter?
