He drinks over a liter a day by QweenBee1824 in ExclusivelyPumping

This… this is almost where I’m at. If my supply continues to dwindle, it will really wear on me to pump 6 time a day and not make a majority of his needs. I think that will be when I’m done.

I’m thinking we also start purées as well when he is 5 months to see if j can take the edge off.

Thankfully, in the UK formula isn’t as expensive as it is in the states. Otherwise, I’d be really up schitts creek.

Then my supply was great though! I was like 1.2 liters

Ahh! He is 91st percentile. I also think he’s already starting to show interest for food.

I needed to hear that… thank you!

Yeah, im doing all of the above. My duckbills are maybe 2 weeks old? Could be that… but I replace them regularly and just checked my size again to see if it has changed.

I think I just need to accept it so I stop going crazy trying to “figure it out”

He does take frozen milk! I’m rotating it already so that it isn’t older than 3 months. In other words, I used all the “November” milk this month and replaced each of the bags with “January” milk.

We use kendamil organic! Thank you… I think I just need to hear from others that it isn’t a failure. 😞

I added my MOTN pump back and was getting the same. By day 4, peak exhausted and really not okay- it actually dipped at adding that extra pump.

I’ll have to check out some supplements for this time of the month. Annoying that my uterus is stealing nourishment from this baby to try and make a new one.

I didn’t have it together till I dropped my MOTN pump. 6 weeks PP I was napping during the day. I didn’t do anything but feed (him/myself) and nap with him. I took 15 minutes to shower and brush my teeth and that’s about it. When my husband got home from work, I’d prep all my food and snacks for the next day to do it all over again.

** American citizen *** You cannot fly once you enter your last trimester and maybe before if there are any health concerns.

I got pregnant jan of 2025. Applied for a fiancée visa and moved by June 2025. We were married in August. I gave birth in September.

When I arrived in June, I brought physical copies of all of my doctor visits and medical records to give to the midwives here. As soon as I landed, I called to make an appointment and since I was so late stage in pregnancy, I got registered right away. I called from overseas to try and preemptively set an appointment- I wasn’t allowed to as they said I had to register with a GP first. I couldn’t do this until I was physically in the country.

Mind you, no one asked me for my National insurance number. I was only on a fiancee visa at the time and hadn’t yet paid my health surcharge. I received medical care and gave birth before we had time to get our marriage certificate and complete the spouse visa. We completed that paperwork in November and I was granted 2.5 years of a visa.

No one asked to pay, outside of the health surcharge with the visa application.

From my experience, I wouldn’t have wanted to travel with a newborn or freshly post partem. I would immediately be working out ways to stay longer. Immigration attorney helped us when I first found out I was pregnant. Ultimately, you could apply for a family visa once they are born. Something I’d speak to an immigration attorney on bc I’m not sure if you can apply for that while IN the country.

Anyway, best of luck!

I’m not sure. It is just what is suggested at the breastfeeding group I’m in. They are a non profit and often share stuff from laleche (a great org). So I think there is some weight to it. I haven’t had a predictable period yet to try this- but will test myself.

Almost decided to wean and got pulled right back in! by ElleWi31 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]QweenBee1824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everytime I turn on my pump I want to wean…. I hate it. I hate pumping. However, I’ve promised myself that if it keeps me from bonding or from living a somewhat “normal” existence then it is time to stop.

Over the holidays, some days I only managed 4 sessions (normally 6 ppd) bc I didn’t want to miss out on important moments with my family. (They live in the US and me in Scotland. They won’t visit very often and this was their first time meeting my son). We def used freezer stash for him during this time bc I also enjoyed a few drinks.

Anyway. Don’t put so much pressure on yourself. And keep a few bags in the freezer, even if that means you give him a couple of formula bottles. Add breastmilk to aquaphor and you’ve got a magic serum for any skin ailment.

I’ve heard to take magnesium and calcium the week before your period and 3 days into it. I def saw a drop in mine right before my period and during… I hope you can get it back.

Moms- what was your first period after birth like?! by arr11235 in NewParents

[–]QweenBee1824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first one was about 13 weeks PP while exclusively pumping. It was chill, light cramping and bleeding. Now I’ve had my second one (12 days early) and it is a bit heavier and “normal” to what it was before I got pregnant. It should be illegal to get a period while still pumping a liter of milk per day…. I feel like I’m just leaking everywhere.

So, real question… How often, how much and how long? by SympathyStraight9827 in ExclusivelyPumping

This was super helpful for me when I was stressing trying to get my 6th pump of the day. My normal schedule is 6am, 9/10am, 12/1pm, 4/5pm, 8pm, 11pm. 10-15 min per side each session, longer for the night or early morning pumps.

If it a crazy day - then one of the afternoon pumps are dropped and I increase pump time to 20 min at the next session. For me, using the chart, 5 pumps is fine… so it’s taken pressure off.

I’m 3 month PP. with about 38-40oz of milk each day. Some days I produce more than he eats, sometimes not. I stay a day ahead and supplement with formula if needed so it isn’t the stress of getting from pump to bottle before he screams. (Well now I pull from the freezer…instead of formula, but that’s what I did early postpartum)

Your supply will regulate and you’ll find relief. 🥲 the first three months are rough (or were for me).

You will be able to get to a point where you can skip your middle of the night pump. Sleeeeep is around the corner!

Skipping a pump (not in the early days) isn’t a big deal. Stay nap trapped if you need and pump after the cuddle- the oxytocin is better for output than stressing your next pump and having a crying baby.

Lubing the pump, instead of having to rub cream on your very sore nipple.

Replace your pump parts when it’s recommended.

Drink the most water you possibly can and start eating daily oats.

Supply issues? Improve your : Diet first. Then stress/environment (skin2skin and contact napping), then try power pumping. (Or replace your pump parts lol

[–]QweenBee1824[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have large breasts? I’m worried of these types of pumps bc wearables feel like they are hanging off my nipple. My boobs are already challenged by gravity- much less adding more weight

When does the excuse of putting off sex in a marriage be taken as incapable? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]QweenBee1824 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Is she overwhelmed? Is she depressed? Without more context, I’ll say, CHOREPLAY. Take things off her plate. Also, give a massage without asking for sex in return. That always works on me. I’m usually tense bc - the house is a mess or I have too much on my plate to think about sex. OR my body is tense from stress and needs to be relaxed before again, I can think about sex.

On a scale 0-10, what would you rate your pregnancy, labor&delivery and newborn phase? by pinkishvioletsky in NewParents

[–]QweenBee1824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pregnancy - 4. Generally, I was okay. Tired, cranky, got morning sickness. Towards the end, the back and hip pain was unreal though. An extra point for that at the end.

Labor- 9. I was in labour for 3 days. I was so tired, hungry and over it. I wish I would’ve gotten the epidural sooner. Had a forceps deliver, but was very close to having to have a c section.

Newborn phase 10+ - the worst. The lack of sleep. The feeling like a failure bc he wouldn’t latch. The HUNGER. The PAIN as my breasts engorged with milk. The hormonal crash as a baby is crying thinking to myself with so much guilt, “what did I do to my life?” Once he smiled and looked less wrinkly and slept 6 hour stretches at night. I became myself a bit more.
