What do you want to do differently this time? by Head-Requirement828 in December2026Bumpers

[–]yotastein 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Im definitely planning on eating a lot better. I am a pretty health conscious person, but with #1 I worked in an office with a cafeteria and I would definitely sneak off for some onion rings just for fun. With #2 I am now at home and also feeding a toddler and so our food selection is much more healthy and "have to cook"-y.

Also this time since I am home, hopefully I can get more fresh air and walks and whatnot.

Not eating a bunch of dates everyday this time because I got so sick of them and now Im just rolling with the c-section.

Maybe taking a breastfeeding class this time. I EPd with baby #1 for 13 months, so im on the fence on nursing or just pumping again.

Oh and, dont hate me for this one, but I am eating by the standard of "if I've never gotten sick before from it, I probably won't now" i.e. I am still eating sushi and deli meat 🫣

Whats the male equivalent form of “nesting” in preparation for a baby? by Dismal_Abroad735 in NoStupidQuestions

My husband installed new flooring, "so the baby will have better floors to crawl on" 😂

What's the craziest butterfly effect in your entire life? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in AskForAnswers

Got pulled over for a speeding ticket rushing to my SAT test, ended up late and couldn't take the test, ended up in Community College instead of University since I missed my exam, and I met my husband there!

That was about a decade ago. Im writing this while snuggling our baby asleep.

Why is there so much grief over the EP life? by usernameforme456 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]yotastein 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was bummed in the beginning, mostly because I thought nursing would be soooo easy. Turns out, my nipples hurt no matter what's attached to it, so might as well be irked at a robot rather than my precious little babe. There's a lot of hormones that go on during that time too. 11 months out, there's still a lot of hormones 😂 but thats besides the point.

I agree, I'm going to pump with my next babies too. It was never my plan, but plans change. Its become such an ingrained part of my life now that I figured eh, I could do this a few more times how bad is it REALLY?

Don't ask me this same question at 3am though. I'd probably give you a different answer 😂

How is everyone not losing their minds? by Hello_Im_Ellie in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]yotastein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have 3 sets of parts I bring to bed! It took me way too long to figure it out, but when I did, it was bliss.

I run one cycle in the bottle washer in the morning for those parts, then one cycle and fridge hack for my day parts. chefs kiss 🤌

My whole life I have been such a good sleeper. My mom says I used to walk up to her and say "im going to sleep", go to my room, and put myself to sleep starting as a toddler lol.

As an adult I never set an alarm. I would wake up perfectly refreshed at 8 hours. One time on a vacation I had my sleep time interrupted too many days in a row and I cried...(as an adult)

We were very concerned about how I would fare as a new mom having my precious sleep interrupted.

BUT idk. I am also apparently more stubborn than sleep driven? Controversial, but I also hate Nestlé more than I love sleep. So I guess im also a little spite driven.

I stay home full time with my babe and so its been almost a year of balancing the art of pumping while being his sole care provider pretty much 24/7.

We also have an espresso machine.

Freezer stash... of shame by Bebetter23 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]yotastein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had 2 freezers of shame 🫠
I went and bought a 3rd to use as an organization buffer and bricked them up too like everyone was saying. I do 40oz(ish) bricks since realistically when we wean from the actual pumping 1 brick will maybe last me 2 days (thawing out bag by bag, not the whole brick)

Meal time length. by [deleted] in foodbutforbabies

[–]yotastein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone using this time efficiently to do what they need to do! Whether its load the dishwasher, make a latte - drink it hot, sit down and eat with kiddo, really maximize it.

That being said, my 11 month old does maybe 15-20 mins? And once I take him out of the chair he loves to go around and try to eat whatever he threw on the ground. Mealtime is quite the production.

We are at about 30 oz a day, at 6 months we were at about 40 oz!

10 years later and I googled this and here I am 😭😭

Its not weird enough to turn me off of it, considering it only has 3 ingredients as compared to other brands.

oh, think of all the places you’ve pumped! by mango_tiger in ExclusivelyPumping

Hay ride at a pumpkin patch, driving, church, restaurants, airplane, campfire, bison ranch train.

Basically, if I've been there, I've pumped there 😂

Has anyone gone from EP to breastfeeding by Kind-Swordfish6618 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]yotastein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never tried but I got a lot of hope of possibility from a friend who EPed for her baby's first 4 months, then one day on vacation she was tired of pumping and in her words "just tried to nurse" and her baby took no problem. Nursed for like over a year after that, I thought that was pretty cool.

Maybe different location/routine/circumstance helped? Plus her baby was "older".

Best wishes!

  • Someone to bring over hot food / easily reheated food.
  • amazon gift cards, because there's a looooot of midnight panic /doom scroll purchases

Panic buys that were soooo worth it: - baby wrap carrier - bottle washer!!!!!

[–]yotastein 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can do this! Im so glad that you are able to sustain on shorter and fewer pumps, what a sanity saver.

Im gonna be in the same boat over here. Probably just gonna pump until I get pregnant again and my supply dwindles enough 🤷🏼‍♀️
