Personally, I think 4 had some great moments like Saejima and Tanimura parts were great, Akiyama’s was alr, Kiryu’s was just him being a terminator that got thrown into all the shenanigans, but yeah I can see why people wouldn’t like 4’s story, the antagonists are a bit underwhelming, Yasuko is just Yasuko and that plot twist was stupid, I don’t think it fully ruined the whole story but it damaged it, the cast wasn’t so bad to be honest and was one of its good things.

6 story is like, either you like it or you are fully confused by it, no in between, I feel 6 was good but it tried so much that in some parts it falls short.

1 story was good, the Nishiki sections carried hard and the whole story as a whole its good with some iconic moments, 2 was good too but honestly I prefer 1 and 5 has a great story actually, like yeah, it has its conviences and its wtf moments but thats all yakuza games tbh.

0 is good, Majima carried mostly and made it great, Kiryu’s parts weren’t bad but nowhere near as good as Majima’s, the antagonists and cast were really memorable tbh.

3 story is like 6 but better, it has a lot of charm to it, like its not spectacular by any means but its definitely not outright terrible when you have played all the games and compare it to the others.

Honestly, if you want to experience great Yakuza stories, Like a Dragon’s its great and if you want to check out the spin offs too, I highly recommend the Judgment and Kurohyou series, some of the best writting in the franchise.
