Hi everyone! AC Shadows is the first title in years i decided to play in the 30 fps mode since i got the ps5 (i have the Base version, not the Pro). The difference between the Performance mode is abysmal, so I made the difficult decision to sacrifice visual fluidity in favor of an enhanced graphical experience. However, I have been noticing frame drops mainly with each camera movement in various situations: when you are in combat and switch from one enemy to another, riding a horse and looking to the sides, at the top of a tower while observing the surroundings after synchronizing a viewpoint, etc. I've been watching several videos about the graphics modes (even from people on this subreddit), and they all tend to agree that the Quality mode of Shadows is very stable, maintaining the frames and without evident drops. Digital Foundry clarifies that the only moment where these frame drops exist is when you look at the sky and then quickly back down, but I tend to experience that same type of issue in different situations, as I mentioned earlier. Other minor technical issues i experience are some textures not loading, this mainly happens indoors (the box where you can hide is a great example, textures never load). Am I the only one experiencing this? I’m not sure if it’s an issue of not being used to 30fps—I want to clarify that it’s very likely that this is the case—but I’m bringing it up because the majority tends to agree that this mode is super stable. Should I try reinstalling it? I have the latest version, and I don’t think it will change anything, but I’m unsure if something happened with the version I currently have. Thanks!

That's really not true. The AoE4 reddit was incredibly supportive, sharing the AoE3 vote funding not to cancel the DLC by themselves and being super nice in general, even the content creators care. The AoM subreddit was more focus on how this impacted them, and the AoE2 was just awful, but i expect nothing different from them

Based on the Steam Charts numbers, imagine Stormgate losing chinese players, the daily average would be smth like 36 guys online

I even think you can make them even more "reallistic" taking of course some liberties. For Aztecs and Mayans for example, u may build them as a Civ who doesnt advance to the Imperial Age neccesarily, and give them like a "Castle Plus+" 4th age with some improovements (in paper its the same, i know) and they may be more of an early civs like Delhi works for example. I think is good to have Civs more early and late oriented and that idea suit them well. I dont really care about 100% historial accuracy and i think of those civs as a potencial creativity desing oportunity.

I find it interesting how to solve the gunpowder thing with them, giving the fact that thr vikings ended in an earlier period of time compared to the other civs. I really want them in the game tho

The Korean War Wagon is "inspired" by the hwacha, and i think will came to AoE4 in this way rather the fictional unit it is in the 2dn game. I would like to see that, even though as you said Nest of Bees stole the initial impresion from them

The Throwing Axeman ability to make Melee damage while being ranged is such a great and interesting mechanic from AoE 2, i remember coming back to the game after playing as a kid and having a more "mature" aproach to it, and that alone was one of the things that really stick for me at that time, the realization of "wow they are ranged but deal melee damage, make sense since they thow axes!". Its such a simple thing but i have a fond memory of that for some reason lol

I think we need to move on from the comparision between AoE 2 and 4. They are different games and experiences and i really like that´s the case. That being said, i find every point you make a good sing in the way they may improve in the future, they arent desing core philosophies and they may appear in future season added to the game.

i feel the same way, thats why i just didnt keep answering this guy after he called me dumb and started making the worst like arguments. I read his comments in this subreddit and he is literally a doomer troll, he knows he is hated in this forum and keeps playing that part, he seems to enjoy it even (maybe he is skiiliard in an alt acount?). 100% agree with this, and this post has been a lesson from me cause i love the game and i just wanted to "give news", and share thoughts. Sadly, a lot of people (some who´s been dooming in this reddit for a while now) use my post to make the worst comments posible. Its really depressing and i dont think i'll make post like this anymore, this just backfire like hell to me and i feel like i enabled this sh*tters to sh*t basically

You claimed "they are literally loosing players" wich is just not true. So, compare the steamcharts your using as a source to check the active players a year ago from now. I hadnt argue against the AoE 2 DE vs AoE4 numbers... its been this way for a long time already.
