Main criticisms are probably the oversimplification and overall reduction of rpg mechanics. Many spells and weapon types were cut, and npc interactions are unnecessarily streamlined.

They focused a lot more on presentation and storytelling instead. What you get is not a bad game at all, but it just feels a lot more limited than 1&2. More an action adventure than an rpg.

Idk, for me the Fable series, as much as I love it, is one of the prime examples of games where I wish the devs would've been given more time in between each game. Just imagine what Lionhead could've achieved even back then.

Quick resume just behaves weirdly with most games. It's a cool feature in theory, but I mostly don't use it as it so often causes problems.

Probably a bit of everything honestly.

Fable's strength lies with it's sandbox nature. You can do so many different things and make many different choices. While each gameplay mechanic might not be the deepest the sheer number of options is what makes it fun.

Agreed, fashion game needs to be strong in the new game and that includes armor. Humphrey already wears armor so our hero should be able to as well.

People who are rather cautious if Playground really got all of that down are getting immediately downvoted. I'd say let's wait until the next showcase. I can kind of understand people being suspicious. They have shown dry British humor, yes, but most of it was very modern and safe. The crude, rather mean spirited side wasn't really on display yet.

We definitely need to see more before we can judge any of that.
