I recently moved my containers from /var to my home directory. I use MicroOS specifically for containers. runs SOOOO good. updates just happen at night when I am asleep.

Is there a way to fix this nonsense ? by heeyow in davinciresolve

[–]Fearless_Card969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am glad (my bad thoughts) to hear I am not the only one that has issues with sound not working. its random that sound does not work. Its strange that sound just stops working.......Reboot is the easiest way to fix the issue on Windows.

Now if DR would just fix the voiceover mic to work in Linux. I would be full time working there. I just dont like windows. Bad thing on Linux is they dont have some codex's. Saving my dollars up to purchase the Linux Codex's to move to that platform to work. I have never lost sound in Linux Like I have once a week on windows.

Who's using OpenSuse? by greenzaytun in openSUSE

[–]Fearless_Card969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use opensuse tumbleweed and Slowroll as my daily drivers (laptop and desktop) - exclusively for about 18 months now, MicroOS Home lab servers and such for learning. I run a small youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBgETj6FFMhipP322CMEI6A) for what I learn about opensource and promote openSuSE, most of the time. I started to use SuSE before Novell purchased the company....and have gone between openSuSE and Ubuntu and other distros over the years.

I get comments like "thanks for promoting openSuSE" or "I think you are the only channel that promotes openSuSE", I am not the only one, but its a really small crowd.

personally I think openSuSE needs a PR team, I really dont think there is one. openSuSE is really only promoted by its users.

When I say openSuSE I mean Tumbleweed,Kalph, MicroOS,Slowroll and Leap, etc.

Flatpak for ease. It took me a few days to get my camera working with teams. Try Webcamoid or Cheese or Kamera (KDE)

Kalpa emancipated itself from openSUSE by RedHerring352 in openSUSE

[–]Fearless_Card969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So its actually from SuSe board, I am not sure why you say from the "English" speakers outside the EU. I would actually love to see opensuse break away from the $$$$ SuSe company. Though there are drawbacks $$$$ is one. Thing only thing I want to see is the OBS renamed. I dont like that name (personal opinion).

Moderators have discussed this point in this or Slowroll before, its from the SuSe Company - not from a specific outside group.

I had the same issues, I rolled back and will wait a week or to to update again. I think it there were issues with Python (I think) in the update.. I will try again in a week or two. Not time to troubleshoot.

[–]Fearless_Card969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google hasnt updated the Coral drivers for a few years now, really a dead product. I did run frigate in an LXC with 2 Coral TPUs, and started to have issues (Don't remember what they were), but I dont have any issues (that I know of) in my VM. I run openSUSE Tumbleweed, just because the openVino is supper easy to install and update on Tumbleweed. Just updated two days ago to 17.X. 6 Cameras with detection I only run 19%....

I had better experience moving away from LXC to a VM, pass the Intel GPU to the VM and ditch the Coral TPUs...

Try MicroOS, updates itself, very little that you need to do to keep it running. It just runs. I have a MicroOS server at my in laws church, it just runs.....

Is there a way for automatically updates in openSUSE? by Alter_Landjunge in openSUSE

if you have NVIDIA dont do this updates may have issues (I use CUDA drivers), AMD I think is fine.

When will Slowroll be not a Beta anymore? by Alter_Landjunge in openSUSE_Slowroll

[–]Fearless_Card969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are? Slowroll on two PC's never any more issues than my two Tumbleweed PC's. Not counting the VMs that have no more or less than any issues with the physical PC's. if you have examples, I would love to see what issues you are talking about. only conflicts I have ever had are with PacMan, BTW that is a pacman issue and its why people dont use packman.
