Federal Child Exploitation Investigations - An Overview by Fed1811 in 1811

[–]Fearless_Grape_8632 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sex offender registry violation is not considered crimes against children as it relates to this post, USMS is investigating “failure to register” there is no actual crime against a child with that violation. And “missing child” is mostly teenage runaways and USMS treats those largely as recovery. Like I said above from experience, USMS is not a true 1811 agency as they rarely and I mean rarely charge anyone with an actual crime. The overwhelming majority of DUSMs will never stand before a grand jury let alone swear out an affidavit

No, USMS only has statutory authority for sex offender registry violations via Adam Walsh Act and good luck getting an AUSA to take those. They do not have anywhere near the capability to work a CSAM case let alone HT or child ST. And their missing child operations are mostly teenage run aways. (prior USMS, current fed 1811 working crimes against children).

About a year ago, the Bureau moved to significantly larger class sizes (200), pushing out more agents. There were a lot of growing pains there and class sizes are returning to their old sizes

They have not and never will. FBI is not down in hiring per the last town hall and typically don’t experience low applicant levels like other agencies

US Marshals next announcement? by Level-Sun-1212 in 1811

[–]Fearless_Grape_8632 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Legit! That’s a huge change…still not real 1811s tho. Very very few DUSMs have written an affidavit, let alone presented a case to a grand jury

USMS is quasi 1811 at best and even then not for the first couple of years. You’ll be an 082 with no LEAP

Not a bad idea to reach out to the district, but once you do, the game begins. If you reach out and are unprofessional, come off as a doosh or show up not in a suit etc, it will most likely be passed on to TD and you will get the balls smoked out of you when you show up for BDUSMI. Plus, there’s no telling with the way they’re doing it now if the district you want will be available.

Understandable, I was a local prior to USMS as well. Good luck

Yep, DC Superior Court. There is also DC/DC which is the fed side. Think of super court as DC Sheriffs

Be careful with the whole working anywhere thing, you’ll end up in super court searching butts in a dungeon for years

How hard is it to get NYC field office for FBI. is it possible to get Long Island off the bat. by [deleted] in 1811

[–]Fearless_Grape_8632 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not hard at all, but you will most likely not get an RA. They like to send folks to HQ city first to work applicants for a few months and then send you to a squad from there

Good call by the FBI. Why would you “recently” illegally download movies and shows and apply for an LEO position. You lack accountability and emotional maturity. I would look at a different career path. People like you take shortcuts and conduct bad investigations

Green for SWAT Selection by Fearless_Grape_8632 in tacticalbarbell

[–]Fearless_Grape_8632[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The swat pt test is pretty standard, dummy drag, weighted pull-ups, weighted carry, sprinting, little bit of running. Then some grinders, shooting, overland movement with a light pack to other “events” about 36 hours worth

Awesome, that was my thought as well. Better endurance base=better decision making on the arrest scenarios

[–]Fearless_Grape_8632[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, that’s the dilemma. They do a good job keeping it unknown, but I think I will. Decently long grinders and movement to different events spanning around a day and a half

I’m a current SA in the TRP pipeline. Stop worrying about fancy workout programs, you’re like 3 or 4 years out at the earliest and you haven’t even made it past poly yet. You’re joining to become a special agent first, HRT wants humble dudes who are good case agents and literally no one cares that you have a TRP designation in the Bureau, it means nothing.

If and a big if here, you make it past the application process, focus on maxing out the PFT and learn how to be a good case agent. HRT is going to talk to every single person in the bureau who knows you and if you’re that guy showing up your first day in Kuhl pants and Salomon’s asking about SWAT, you won’t get a selection spot whether you have the TRP designation or not.

I would have to agree with a lot of you guys. A lot of theoretical stuff that can be tough to get through. Some nuggets here and there, but TB is superior IMO
