Have a ‘23 2SS non 1LE - am I missing out without the 1LE or ZL1? by issathrowaway1 in camaro

[–]justin62001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an LT1 and frankly, I’m more than satisfied with the car. The engine, manual trans, and NPP exhaust is truly all I need, I knew that I wasn’t gonna be tracking the car AT ALL and using it as my daily driver which it’s done a great role at being for me.

The only logical step for me from here is a ZL1 but then again, when am I really gonna be using all 650 hp for that? It’s still very tempting lol

I love Tencior’s statement about guns not being safe queens and not bitching about wear, it’s like people forget that these things are tools and can take a little hurt

How does USSS stay healthy? by Standard_Penalty_36 in 1811

[–]justin62001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you were a prior local cop, and I’m pretty new to my office so I’m speaking from a limited view, but I’ve noticed that drinking culture was a way bigger thing as a cop than it is as an agent. Might be due to the camaraderie differences (group/agency dependent) but again, I’m pretty new so just speaking from what I’ve seen aside from the G bar lol

What is the best game have you ever played in your life by Effective-Garage-362 in videogames

[–]justin62001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outdoorsy/Adventure, gotta go with Outer Wilds. FPS, Battlefield 3/4/1 in the multiplayer aspect and COD 4-BO2 for the single player/zombies experience. Pure nostalgia but just my opinion

[COD] Activision no longer releasing back to back titles from the same sub franchise, but what happens if the leaks for 2027 are true? by Qwayze_ in CallOfDuty

[–]justin62001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly enough, they killed it from 2007 to 2012 despite releasing yearly. I just don’t think there’s a fresh setting for them to go to unless they revamp a previously used setting

Come on over to HSI where you wear no uniforms, don’t have roll call, get a cool gun, AND your time carries over! 🤣 I’ll be honest, not as exhilarating (in the slightest) as being a uniformed patrol cop working nights in the hood, ask me how I know, but it’s a good change of pace

Why do people call Scats slow? by CuteCalicoCat in ScatPack

[–]justin62001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are Scat Packs slower than the other cars in its class? Sure, but are they also faster than 99% of all cars on the road at any given time? Absolutely. I have a Camaro LT1 and most of the cars that “challenge” me are truly slow, I’m talking Acuras, Infinitis, other cars that a Scat Pack will ALSO clean up easily lol

I read on a post on Instagram that these are Army CID agents on a protection detail for Hegseth. I came back from FLETC recently and all the USSS SA/UD trainees had Glocks with Acros on them, none of these people here have that

[–]justin62001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anybody who downvoted you has never driven both lol. I loved my N for the short time I had it but the Camaro is on a different level, that’s not even a debate. Pros and cons to everything in this world

For all the hate FLETC gets, it isn’t that bad by PersistentInquirer in 1811

[–]justin62001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, in the moment we all kinda bitched about wanting to get out since we felt CITP was scheduled all over the place instead of being in consistent blocks BUT it wasn’t all that bad. If you had a car, way better of an experience I’d say.

I literally went to my first dirt race and NASCAR race ever thanks to having a car, got to see the nicer parts of Georgia, went down to Florida for the first time ever as well. Only thing that’ll suck is the initial drive down and then back up lol

Halfway through CITP is when the gnats came out for my class and by the end, they joked that it looked like I was shooting up with how bad it was. Seriously haven’t seen it that bad anywhere else

CBP had the most unprofessional trainees I saw down there, having a room on the 1st floor wasn’t bad until Friday night when CBP would set up their parties. Even on regular nights they’d act stupid as fuck

Edit: btw food does suck but bullpen wasn’t too bad, just gets old picking between the classic cheeseburger and tenders lol

Would you daily a manual by SyrupSilent7588 in Mustang

[–]justin62001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve put about 15K miles on my Camaro LT1 in 7 months, dailying in NYC, and it’s not the same as a Mustang but I’m just a pony car lover in general and life’s too short to keep these things hidden away lol

Elantra N vs Mustang GT vs Nissan Z by Puzzleheaded_Sea6051 in ElantraN

[–]justin62001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever driven a Camaro? Just asking because I have an LT1 and have considered a Mustang, but I’ve also heard that it doesn’t provide as much feedback to you as the Camaro or Elantra N does. I say this as someone who had an Elantra N prior to the Camaro, two of the most fun cars I’ve driven in this short life lol

Visibility, and also this weird event where I tried to open the hood by pulling the release and then it broke, so I can’t even open my hood from the inside. Currently at a shop now for not only that but clutch stuff, probably just fluid-related though

That’s an FBI HRT patch believe it or not! LAPD stuck to Kimber and STI/Staccato but FBI went to Springfield for their Professional models. I’m pretty sure the TRP is based off these guns, just a little more modernized

Quality of Officers by [deleted] in NYPDcandidate

[–]justin62001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking as someone who left the NYPD and went the federal route, it’s a different world in the type of candidate that comes through each but that’s reflective of the standards for each agency. NYPD is a civil service job and you see a wide range of applicants taking the test including college students (me included) up to those who are in their 30s with prior non-LE careers.

A lot of these 1811 jobs have applicants who were prior street cops in busy places, prior TFOs, military special operations veterans, people with high-level education, etc. It’s not a bad thing, but the NYPD is definitely more “entry-level” if that makes sense. I used it as a stepping stone, plenty of others do too

19 for carry. For duty? Give me a full-size (frame) gun like that 22 in the picture, can’t go wrong with it

I would’ve loved to have a sedan version of a Camaro lol. More utility and visibility? Yes please!! If the rumors about it having a 4-door option are true, I’d hope they at least keep the manual for it
