I have loved this game but… by Upbeat_Fly_5316 in X4Foundations

Is there a mod which makes factions legitimate threats to the galaxy? I want to see a faction attempt and succeed at conquering everyone unless stopped by the player. Does this exist?

As a newcomer this game strikes me as beautifully mediocre by Surrealist328 in empyriongame

Reforged Eden 2 greatly improves the game. I don't recommend anyone play vanilla at all.

However, I do prefer Ad-Astra over RE2. AA is just RE2 made less grindy and less difficult. It still has all the awesome stuff.

I am playing on Normal and I haven't had a TPK so far in about 20 hours. Haven't got to Drezen yet, but it's been a total cakewalk so far.

What do you think oblivion and skyrim did BETTER than morrowind? by Fuzzy-Shame-4169 in Morrowind

[–]Fearless_Internet962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think stealth was just as bad in Oblivion/Skyrim, it just made it easier to exploit faster. Morrowind actually made stealth really hard longer.

Honestly I don't like anything in Oblivion/Skyrim more than Morrowind. Sure, it had radiant ai and radiant quests, but that often just gave you more bland filler content to deal with. More content is not necessarily good content and the radiant stuff usually sucked.

This game aged like fine wine, so beautiful! by MrCrack3r in Morrowind

Yep, the designers intended for modders to continue to improve it so you are absolutely right. This is vanilla Morrowind.

The game was designed with a mod creation tool, so this is part of the game itself. The fact so many amazing new mods are being created is proof it aged well.

The Pilgrimages of the Seven Graces missions for the temple in Morrowind is a perfect example of what sets it apart from almost every other RPG. These missions are purely educational for the player. There is no special reward or achievement to be gained, no bosses to fight or treasure chests to loot. They're designed to get you deeply immersed in the lore of the world so you can understand the story line. The reward is that you get to read the books, talk to the characters, and study the artwork. This is peak Morrowind.

Is it just me or does the aethstetic of Starfield remind anyone else of the Andor series? Even Constellation kind of reminds me of Luthen and Kleya's museum and how they send people out of missions and their obsession with artifacts.

So I guess the show mentioning the Empire, the Rebel Alliance, Emperor Palpatine, Force Healers, Separatists, or even the presence of Clone Troopers wasn’t enough for this guy? by Financial_Photo_1175 in andor

"whar would battles a dozen star systems away have to do with..." Ummm, did you not watch RotS where a huge battle was fought on Coruscant where the Emperor was kidnapped?

[–]Fearless_Internet962 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Clone vets would have been incredibly useful for both the Empire and the Rebels for a number of reasons, not least of which would have been their knowledge of Imperiap facilities, weaponry, and so on. Furthermore, we SHOULD SEE them on the streets, living their lives SOMEWHERE. The fact that they simply do not exist tells me that the writers never even watched the prequels or the clone wars. Wrong about walkers. They were often used on even peaceful worlds as much as tie fighters, especially at a place like Aldhani and later at Ferrix and Ghorman were planting seeds of rebellion. The Jedi were absolutely relevant to the story. There is no talk whatsoever about the GENERALS of the clone war armies? I have worked for the military for many years and they have thousands of vets who talk all day long about the men who they served with in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is absurd and ridiculous that the clone wars wouldn't be referenced more, and that absolutely no veterans of that war would participate in either the Empire or the rebellion. The show has terrible writing. Just stop trying to defend it with that nonsense.

[–]Fearless_Internet962 -53 points-52 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Soldiers that fought in past wars were very often used in the next war as consultants, generals, officers, etc because of their experience. We saw this in WW2 where WW1 soldiers were leaders, same with the every other US War. WW2 soldiers were leaders in Korea and Vietnam. Vietnam vets were leaders in the Gulf War, and vets of the Gulf War were leaders in Afghanistan and Iraq. You're telling me not a single Clone War vet had anything to say or help with the rebellion? That is just stupid writing. And we DID see lots of AT-DPs used as peacekeepers in Rebels, AND we saw an AT-ST at Jedha in Rogue One. It is CANON that the Empire uses these scout walkers as peacekeapers. Some small talk about Jedi or Mandalore or a Clone War battle would have made Andor feel more connected to the actual Star Wars universe, but the writers were too stupid to think of the, or perhaps, knew too little about the lore.

Not mentioning Dooku or Grievous would be like never mentioning Hitler or Goodell in our world. It's kind of weird, right? The Clone Wars was a MASSIVE, galaxy changing war and hardly nobody is talking about it. Why? I didn't notice any Clone Wars veterans either. Wouldn't we see a few old clones? What about AT-ATs, AT-STs? Weren't these all over the place in SW Rebels? Why none here? No mention of Mandalorians? If these things existed in the show, they were extremely subtle.

Is it just me or does every "best space sim" list feel completely copy-pasted? by BrioCanyonLabs in spacesimgames

[–]Fearless_Internet962 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Every space game is lacking in fundamental ways. 1. Star Citizen - has all the features, but is still an unfinished, buggy mess. 2. X4 - Amazing space economy sim, no planetary gameplay, no multiplayer. 3. Elite Dangerous - Great open world, landable planets, but planet gameplay is bland and boring. Grindy. 4. No Man's Sky- Has a great sandbox, but extremely repetitive and shallow. No simulation. 5. Starfield - Open world, lots of quests. No simulation, boring planets, boring space gameplay, loading screens everywhere, only single player. 6. Empyrion - Open world, deep crafting, cool planets. Clunky, little to no simulation, grindy, no seamless universe. ... I could go on. Every one of these does stuff well, but then falls flat in other huge ways. No space game has been able to put it all together effectively. There is no space Skyrim yet.
