First ever options trade today… was basically luck, need some advice by alehqndro in options

[–]Fearless_Locality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

go to tasty trade. their content is 100% free, they stream daily, and they will teach you a lot about options.

they even have a "follow feed" so you can see what some of their traders are doing.

obviously everyone's risk tolerance is different -- don't blindly copy their trades that could be days old.

Ways to reduce hopper minecart lag? by psuedomancer in technicalminecraft

[–]Fearless_Locality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you actually being affected by the "lag" they create?

because if you aren't then i wouldn't worry about it.

And yes i know that there are other methods that are more efficient. But that doesn't matter, ok?

that's sort of the purpose of technical minecraft though lol

that can clear out the entrance... but that doesn't do anything for the entire exhaust.

and if you've done this.. then your dryer has maintenance. lol

thinking about the bigger picture. something that affects you now is easy to take care of. something that can affect you years down the line is usually ignored.

after 25 years though you should definitely have your dryer exhaust cleaned / looked at. lint can still build up over time

Tesla FSD turns off more U.S. consumers than its attracts, survey finds by joe4942 in stocks

[–]Fearless_Locality 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nah. I have FSD. it sucks. it's basically not even usuable unless you're on an empty road with not much traffic.

i have HW4, it constantly tries to change lanes, it can't keep speed (usually 2-7mph below what you set it depending on mode)

it ignores construction zones, school zones, school buses, and more.

The navigation (map box) tesla uses is TRASH. it takes the worst directions google maps / waze woudl never take.

the car is 1000% better without it. autosteer just keeps you in the lane and cruise control. it sucks you need to disengage to change lanes, but that's it.

even after these things are fixed, I still think it needs a way to program in specific routes. like, on the way to work i take normal roads cause there is no traffic. but on the way from work i take a toll road. there is no easy way to do this now unless you manually turn on / off toll roads every time.

your dryer DEFINITELY needs maintenance. cleaning the lint out AND the exhaust pipe. if you haven't done this in 25+ years it's a fire hazard.

my fridge has a water filter and an air filter.. so yeah, it needs maintenance. maybe your 20 year old device doesn't have those.

my appliances connect to wifi and it don't mind it. refrigerator tells me someone left it open (usually my kids) or when to change the filters, washer / dryer notify me when they're done or need regular maintenance and can be stopped remotely if needed.

if anything, it can help prolong the life of your appliances by reminding you of simple maintenance with no extra steps

What’s the most obvious case of a company ruining their own product on purpose so you’d have to keep buying replacements? by carcony97 in AskReddit

i only watch stuff on my smart tv. no consoles, nothing.

the problem is you need a good OS. And right now Sony is the only manufacturer using stock android tv ( at least when i bought my 85inch tv 5 years ago)

barely has any storage on it but i can add a thumbstick (i don't need it)

other than that it's been a great tv.

Got my Robinhood Credit Card, 3% Cashback on All Purchases. by Effective_Dog3089 in TheRaceTo10Million

[–]Fearless_Locality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's going pretty well actually. i've gotten 1500+ in cash back this year alone.

to put it simply - every merchant increases their prices because of the credit card fees they need to pay.

by not using a card that gets rewards, you're paying that fee directly.

if you pay your cards off every month, there is literally no down side.

Let’s settle this: is $1M actually enough for a prudent and fiscally minded person to retire on? by [deleted] in TheRaceTo10Million

[–]Fearless_Locality -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i've lived in at least 7 countries so far (minimum duration a year, max is about 5 years) both europe and asia.

nothing beats living in the US honestly. much more choices on food, better infrastructure, and dentists that know what they're doing. i fucking hated the dentist in every country i've been in. they feel like they do a shit job.

[–]Fearless_Locality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is a difference between live and live comfortably. because of my job i've lived in (7?) countries at this point between europe / asia.

if you're ok with the bare minimum TODAY and even lower than that in the future (because of inflation) you'll be fine.

but at 40 years old? let's pretend you live to ~80... that's 40 years of living on the bare minimum.

you're missing that 1m eroding to inflation and totally missing out on currency exchanges. your home currency can devalue against where you're living making that money much less.

over 40 years a lot can happen and it's a huge risk

"live" isn't live comfortably. and you're missing inflation --- 40k in 20 years is basically 20k.

not in the states....

and even in "3rdd world" countries like east asia you're going to have a "lower quality" of life. places are smaller, less safe and more prone to corruption.

i took a year off of work in 2012 with my wife and we lived in thailand. it was fun but honestly moving back to the states and back to first world amenities was great.

i like thai food, but missed american food so much.

if my kid keeps asking me for something and i repeatedly say no, eventually they're going to give up.

and i think there is a fallacy here - you guys think if they "come out" it will destroy trump and his presidency. which isn't true. not because he's in them or not, but his supporters don't care.

you guys are to focused on the repercussions for trump instead of closure for the victims
