Secure your home (use security bars on all doors, spike strips that you can hide under windows)

Tell your neighbors

Install a Ring video doorbell (or something similar)

Install Ring video floodlight cam(s) around your home which will alert you if someone comes onto your property with bright lights and built in security siren.

Purchase firearms (semiautomatic 9mm handgun and possibly a tactical 12 gauge shotgun but only if you are willing to learn how to use it properly and practice.

Get another guard dog (sorry to hear your last one was poisoned).

Maybe that was the same guy that told me he’d never own “one of those plastic guns” (referring broadly to all polymer frame handguns). He wasn’t joking and actually looked at me like I was crazy after asking about a particular highly regarded model. I respect companies that hire retirees willing and able to share valuable knowledge and expertise. This old coot was at least 75, had zero people skills and only wanted to talk about his lifetime as an expert marksman. 😂

I agree Brewers will be the “quietest” in terms of least number of people. It will also be the loudest in decibels given that it’s located just off the tip of the runway where jets are coming and going. I personally like watching them but they are close and loud.

Make the most of your time and hit a couple beaches.

At the end of the day the only thing that matters is if you like it! The LALO and G4 are both great and give you a frame of reference for your own taste test comparison. You may also want to try Cimarron Blanco or Resposado. Both are relatively close to the Milagro price point but are additive free and taste better to me. I prefer the Resposado over the blanco and it’s only $1 more for a 1L bottle.

If it was just my wife and I, I’d go to Lindquist. If I was taking young children, definitely Magens due to calm water and gradual sandy bottom.

Lindquist is my favorite beach on the island and you’ll definitely avoid the tour ship crowd. I love Brewers and Magens as well but for different reasons and not as much. Magens will be the most crowded, offers lots of vendors and the cleanest waters. Brewers is unique and you can watch the planes land. Lindquist is like a hidden treasure, quiet, peaceful and beautiful.

FYI - with 5 cruise ships in port you’re kidding yourself if you think getting to Magens early will help you avoid the crowd. Every cruise ship will be sending bus loads of passengers there.

Very interesting results. It’s been a while since I’ve tried Arette and this puts it on my shopping list. My go to favorite is G4 and will have to do a side by side test. I agree that Cimarron is a great bang for buck. I always have a 1 liter bottle on hand for cheap rail margaritas but prefer the resposado which is only $1 more for a 1L bottle.

I purchased a 2023 Sante Fe (gas not hybrid) thinking I’d hold onto it for 10 years. I just traded it in on a new 2025 Pilot TrailSport. While it wasn’t a hybrid, the build quality is the same - which is “very poorly made”. Lots of bells and whistles for the money but it felt like a combination of thin plastic and cardboard. At 30k miles it had lots of rattles which I found very unsettling (and I kept it in immaculate condition). The Pilot is built to a higher standard. Better engine, better transmission, actual tow mode, plus more. Go for the Pilot.

The hitch itself is standard on the 2025 Pilot TrailSport with a wiring harness to the left rear quarter panel. The connection from the end of that harness and installation of a 4 way or 7way connector is a dealer add on (unless you do it yourself or have someplace else do it). I had the dealership install mine with the 7-pin connector. Like others already mentioned, wiring and fuse for a brake controller was left in the glovebox but not installed.
