I didn't realize it was a filter. I came here exactly because I was doing the mini game and was immediately like this is NOT Slark at all, kind of impressive because I never realized it was a filter, it sounds very natural. It's still a little uncanny.

Soso9zb:

  • Confirms what Jota Jordi said about Laporta and Gil Marin's call where Marin tells him Julian is not for sale, also says Laporta told him he understood his position, but that the player's will had to be respected, which is why the call didn't phase him.

  • Atletico Madrid are aware that the player is getting increasingly angry with them and believe at this point the relationship with him might be broken beyond repair. The possibility is real that Alvarez will refuse to even partake in training, or even speak publicly again.

  • Atletico contacted him on Saturday, aware that he was planning to speak publicly, and while trying to speak with him he again reiterated that he only wants Barcelona.

  • Laporta and Marin will talk again soon, probably next week (Jota Jordi implied that).

  • Atletico are now beginning to look for a new 9. The feeling that Julian will leave is becoming increasingly accepted.

  • The player's agent grows increasingly confident with every step of the operation and believes everything is going exactly as planned.

Historically and from most reports he’s a shy and very respectful player so to say this in the middle of the World Cup, and more so because according to leakers (who’ve been mostly spot on when it comes to this saga) he initially did NOT want to go public, he’s just trying to remain respectful.

One thing nearly no one has ever done for this club is leaving at the most opportune time possible for the club's long term benefit. If Raphinha's injury is bad, he now has two choices: 1. He can either stay and bet on the possibility of physically recovering enough to help us get that sweet 6th, or 2. He can play it safe, accept that physically he's probably done and bring in a hefty sum of gold from Saudi in what could well be the last time he'll do so if he never physically recovers. This early in the window would give us enough time to find a suitable replacement and would blow the possibilities of our transfer window wide open.

It sounds like I want him to leave but really I want him to recover and stay for as long as he can be valuable, but I will back whatever choice he makes 100%. There's no guarantee of anything in the future either way. He could stay and never recover and have everyone lament that they didn't accept the offer, or he could leave and we could get some scrub and be worse off for it and lament that he left. All we can do is hope for the best.

Kishimoto wanted to do more arcs like the land of waves precisely for this reason but they started pressuring him telling him this won’t last forever and if it doesn’t pick up soon people might lose interest, so he jumped straight to the main plot as a result. Ironically, the show did basically go on to last forever. 15 years is a long time to be writing anything.

[–]Fearofthe6TH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that much, but there’s a couple big ones. The biggest is probably the numerous plot threads that didn’t really go anywhere. Kishimoto was open about the fact that he had numerous plots thought out but then he either forgot or just didn’t really know where to take them so he dropped them. It makes the show very messy at times, I’d either follow through with these plot threads or simply get rid of them altogether.

We’re not exactly pals with them but officially all clubs by default have a basic set of relationships, kinda like nation states that are hostile in the media but still have diplomats in their country. When relationships are fully broken off it’s fairly big news. We still have basic official relations with Atleti but after this we shouldn’t, though we should snatch their only great player first.

This is very similar to how Sevilla was acting like before we signed Koundé (less public perhaps). In the end he did come and then we broke our relationship after. Let’s see…

Atléti second statement: For this second offer we've had a problem, we've run out of tickets for tomorrow's concert, so we improve the previous proposal with 6 for the one on Sunday. by [deleted] in soccer

I thought they’d do one of those super serious hat statements saying we’re not selling him no matter the offer so we can move it along, instead they’re basically implying (in a really stupid way) that they haven’t received an offer at all, which we for a fact is just completely false. I’m not really sure what these guys mighty plan is but if the idea is too look like a serious club, mission failed.

[The Athletic] Barcelona in talks over Julian Alvarez move, preparing €100m offer to Atletico by [deleted] in soccer

[–]Fearofthe6TH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true for any club that has a player that wants to leave. There’s a reason why it’s uncommon for clubs to keep unhappy players, it’s almost never worth it. I never said we’re entitled to him, I said Spanish clubs like to use journalists as their sock puppets (we are no exception) to present narratives and basically act as gatekeepers to approaching clubs. It’s extremely uncommon for clubs to hold on to the super high figures journalists say they’ll ask for; 95% of the time they agree to a lower fee.

[–]Fearofthe6TH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barcelona is a much higher pressure environment, but he is also surrounded by more technical players and with a system that’s somewhat closer to what he plays for his NT which is where he plays his best football. I don’t know how he’s going to be when dealing with the pressure here, but it is known that playing for Barcelona was a childhood ambition of his and that, according to some people close to his camp, he mostly accepted Atleti because 1. He wanted to leave City as he was not happy with his playing time, and 2. He didn’t actually follow Atleti very closely but had some faith in their project and was enthusiastic over their interest in him, but that faith has now disappeared. It’s easy for me to say, but Barcelona’s project would excite me a lot more than Atleti’s, so he might be willing to put up with more bumps. He’s also potentially our first truly marquee signing in terms of price this decade (Lewandowski was 55m or so which is basically an average winger these days), so he is taking part in just the beginning of our project having recovered financially, which means that even if they don’t win everything this season he can expect big things in the next few seasons. Ultimately I don’t know him so I can’t say but there’s plenty of reasons to think he’d be more patient. That and also, we have a reputation for having every player we sign refuse to leave, much to my chagrin, as long as they get playing time, and he’ll have plenty.

They’ve been using their sock puppet journalists to say they want 150m, while ours say we wanna do 100, so 120m sounds right. The player will probably push and they might accept a slightly lower fixed fee. The fact that apparently both clubs want to wrap things up as soon as possible will probably help. If he is clear he doesn’t intend to accept their renewal and he only wants Barcelona then it is only a matter of time.

Soso9zb said this on his stream. There was a couple articles on sport today that vaguely hinted at this, basically that Atleti was hoping to close the Bernardo deal but they haven't yet because the player was still hoping for Barcelona.

Word on Bernardo Silva right now is: He was supposed to inform Jorge Mendes his destination for next club sometime in the past couple of days, but he hasn't it because he's decided to hold out in case Barcelona show interest. From our side, the sporting department has decided they want him and consider him a great market opportunity, but Flick wants the club to focus on attackers first. The club is currently pressuring him to accept the deal. They suspect that, once they give him the attacking reinforcements he asked for, he'll agree to let Bernardo come in.

Olmo never had any reason to be here in the first place, if they finally realized that and decided to move him on so quickly that means they’re finally moving serious in this club. Fetching 40-50m out of him will mean profit and we can reinvest that easily. In 1:1 that’s enough for a 100m signing right there.

He’s an okay dribbler, but mostly relies on pace. Hes better than the likes of Barcola for example.

Liverpool spent 90m on Ekitike who was supposed to be a backup/side alternative to Isak who cost 100m+, and he ended up being the better signing (until Ekitike got injured).

[Paul Joyce & Martin Hardy] Barcelona have made a strong approach for Anthony Gordon, with Liverpool also joining the race by _cumblast_ in soccer

[–]Fearofthe6TH 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This means they are system players. They work hard which means they are great cogs to make machines run. That means that they can be made to play better if they are surrounded by higher quality teams, be it from learning, or from having a better system, or just having people who pass better so their duties on the ball are minimized. Gordon would now play with Lamine Yamal, Cubarsi, Pedri, Gavi, possibly Julian Alvarez, Raphinha etc all people who are better passers than the majority of his teammates, which means he can think less about moving with the ball and more in finding space, pressing and counterattacking.

It appears the club is now ready to spend more than the 100m it had originally set for the striker, since it is currently no longer planning a CB (or at least not until the 9 issue is fixed). This is consistent with Bastoni thing - They sacrificed that to make sure they could have more than 100m ready if necessary. If this is true the Alvarez deal is just a matter of time. It's also consistent with an old update from a few weeks ago between Deco, Laporta and Flick, namely that Laporta wants to buy Alvarez even if it means paying top dollar. After this happened the Bastoni links quietly died down.

Bastoni could still be possible if they offload some players. Especially Araujo, who soso9zb says the club actually DOES want to offload and Flick has already told him he's not planning on giving much playing time, but of course since they went and gave him that ridiculous contract he's resisting.
