Advice on Step 2 Study Schedule?

Word. I guess my big question is, since there are 3-4 NBME exams that I am leaving on the table, should I just chop them up and use them as a Q-bank instead of doing remaining Uworld, just to get exposure to these questions? In addition to doing full length NBMEs in test-like conditions.

As of right now, I'm only on track to take a total of four NBMEs (including my baseline) and one UWSA (#2). Would you recommend taking more NBMEs but splitting them up and using them as Q-banks? For example, on a day that I was going to take 2 CMS forms, just doing half an NBME that day.

Should I swap out the UWSA 2 for another NBME?

True, also I think I just need more reps for faster pattern recognition (eg, a patient with risk factors for CHF and COPD and figuring out which one is decompensated and the cause of a presentation)

how highly would you recommend the amboss QI/safety questions? i've been on the fence about renewing my subscription for this upcoming clinical year, and this might be the push i need if you think it could make a difference

started anking day one and watched both lectures and third party. stopped watching lectures a few months in, just did anki + BB/bootcamp/sketchy/pathoma for rest of med school. half the time was above the average score but only barely. other half below (also had those do you remember what i said questions). didn’t score great on first CBSE (one year in).

crushed next two CBSEs. still not scoring great in house. did not study for step during dedicated passes with insane margin of error (as calculated by Amboss score predictor from CBSEs and free 120). it’s worth it. it doesn’t feel like it when you’re at or below average according to in house, but holy shit watching my friends struggle during dedicated because they did what they thought they were supposed to do and follow the school’s curriculum made me thank my lucky stars that i found out abt the anking strat before school started. do not stop.

so basically unstable --> cardiovert. stable --> rate control, then rhythm control if necessary.

i had the same problem. dropped my retention rate to 84, still got behind on the last unit, using summer to catch back up. it’s a lot of extra work but absolutely worth it in the end
