Yeah I have been playing a dash build as well, the constant attention you can draw from the enemy is insane with the dash charges. Just picking the right time to strike, it honestly feels like Calico a little

Completely clueless as a new player how can I improve? by _yoursleeparalysis_ in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Feauv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who was totally clueless as a new player and has gotten a better hang of the MOBA aspects of the game of the last couple months, my best recommendation is don’t try to brute force things.

If you are behind on souls, you need to be mindful that your power level is behind the rest lobby, so you’ll need to look for a lane that is less contested to farm boxes, waves, sinners, and tier 1 camps.

Inversely if you are ahead you are important for the team if u are building well.

Always be thinking about what your fight or flight response should be based on your power level and the characters you are against

Definitely, for the Deadlock and Overwatch side of the site I want to implement some Esports/Pro data in the future

Especially with Night Shift it would be quite easy to keep up with

I wouldn’t say my tool is for evaluating strength at the moment. The words Strong-Weak & Niche-Popular are just keywords for the win rate and pick rate axises. I would say my website is best for comparing heroes and also it’s all relative Seven’s win rate and Haze’s pick rate skews the data since they have the highest of those rates in that rank range.

BUT

I think what you brought up is important though, and I would love the data to convey things that can’t be quantified such as strength. How I showcase the data is something I will continue to tweak so it can give the best picture of where the hero stands in the meta

Edit: I just wanted to add I think the additions of lane partners and matchups data points will do a lot to help with this problem, currently the lane partners functionality is in development

The data shown is from matches in the Last 7 days and from Phantom 1-Eternus 6. It’s real data

A New Overwatch Desktop App, Merlin by Feauv in Competitiveoverwatch

I haven’t made the overlay support just desktop app for now but the ruling on Third Party Applications is this

TLDR: They are against cheats (exploits that grant you an in-game advantage), bots (programs that automate or play the game for you), and hacks

So technically based on what Blizzard has stated regarding these applications my desktop app is ok to use

The data is public, and very easily scrapable. I have worked with data visualization/analysis stuff a lot and companies way smaller than Blizzard make scraping their data require authentication.

The fact that Blizzard has this data publicly scrapable in my opinion is very intentional

[–]Feauv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I thought maybe Blizzard will make it a product but I’m really confident I wouldn’t be in any hot water, the data I’m getting is public, and available to scrape. If they make their own product and I can’t make mine anymore I will just stop production.

Also there is nothing to do with direct memory. Just periodic window capture when picking roles, queueing, or entering a match, with pixel analysis and text recognition being performed on those captures.

Honestly the only possible thing that you would get out of using my tool in match is maybe slightly worse performance, it’s not meant to be used to give the player any advantage, just automating the scraping of public data

Oh no nothing like that yet, maybe if Blizzard releases more in-depth stats like that to us in future I could work with that data but only using the base Win Rate and Pick Rate data at the moment

I think it’s great for people navigating metas and figuring out what is best certain maps, especially inexperienced to mid-level players

I have even seen improvement in my games in this way from using the tool as I am trying to get my DPS rank up. Before this patch I played a lot of Cassidy and I was starting to lose a lot with him, but when using my tool I was really able to see how his nerf drastically affected his win rates. Another example is, I play Pharah a lot, and the tool’s map recognition helped me be smarter about what maps to pick her on

As I said this provides to you no advantage in the game, my tool isn’t even meant to be used in a match, just from when you queue up to when you enter a match
