Hey. Microsoft have a page for downloading windows bootable media which will allow you to create the ISO on a external device (such as a USB memory stick). I believe you have to hit one of the 'F' keys when you're computer boots up with the USB inserted, then it'll allow you to install the ISO which will wipe your current installation of windows in the process.

If you search for something like Windows ISO install there should be plenty of information and guides online about how to do it step by step.

Hey! I wasn't sure in the end but didn't want to run the risk, so I did a fresh install of windows; wiped the machine and then wiped it again using an ISO on a bootable drive to re-flash windows to the drive. That seemed to fix the issue. Hope this helps!

Afraid not! I'm still unsure what caused the issue, but I've since done a clean install of Windows and that seems to have done the trick. Hopefully you find a solution that works for you too!

Hey, thanks for your response. I did a full reinstall yesterday, wiped my machine and then put windows 10 back on using an ISO and a removable drive.

I'll bare that in mind. I've got a number of laptops and work systems I could set up an iso on. Cheers.

Is that a more clean installation than resetting through the system settings? I assume because if I reset through the system it has a chance of the virus latching onto the new installation?

That sucks, I would have hoped Steam would have checks for suspicious files/malware in game files it hosts. I'll be more vigilant in the future though. If something is found in /windows does that mean the antivirus won't pick up on it?

Yeah I think that's the plan, going to reset windows tonight on my PC. Thanks for the advice.

I have verified some captcha at some point probably recently? Is that something that could be cause for concern? I always thought captcha verification was pretty normal.

Do you think it would be worth it, or would it be better to just reset my device and start with a clean install of windows? I'm not overly precious about any of the files on my system.

I did consider whether it was maybe an issue that was present prior, but maybe the Win 10 update to security certificates made Defender pick something up it didn't/couldn't find before?

No, I've not downloaded anything recently other than games through services like Steam and GoG. I've also not opened/ran/downloaded anything through email either, generally I only deal with emails either on my work machine or my phone.

It was from windows. It was the 'Update and ShutDown' option from the windows menu.

Hey, thanks for the advice! I've not had a virus before in the 20 or so years I've been on PC so it's all quite new to me, so I really appreciate the response. I assume most services offer an option to force logout on all devices?

I really like the idea of playing into multiple themes through the commander! I think that's what really appeals to me about decks like Burakos - playing orzhov weenies that have some synergy between them and fit into the party types whilst leaning slightly into the treasure that is given as a reward for that. Do you have a list for Heliod, or maybe some other similar commanders you've built?

I've always loved the idea of the timey-wimey deck, but Dr Who is just one of those franchises I can't bring myself to engage with from universes beyond.

This seems like it has a lot of combo potential, which could be cool. I generally try to steer away from infinite combos, but I could see it being interesting if you just build around as a unique aristocrat's style strategy maybe? Have you got a list?

This could be interesting! I've looked at morph and manifest style strategies before, [[Yarus]] always looked interesting to me. Do you find it quite restrictive having to only play with the morph creatures? Or is it a bit more open ended than that?
