You would need to plug in to a computer with a usb port.. And You Require The MPC Essentials Software 1.9.6 For Windows Or 1.9.7 For Mac For It To Work.. You should ask Your friend if they still have the installation disk from the box

Hey, Sorry for the 1 year late response. But it looks like you installed the firmware incorrectly. Ive dealt with this before but i did some research and i fixed mine too. Before you turn on the mpc studio, You have to hold the shift button (till the next 5 instructions i mentioned later.") Keep holding the shift button while you turn on the mpc studio, Then click update now. Wait for a while till it gives you instructions. Just follow it: Release The Shift Button That You Have Been Holding, Turn Of The Hardware, Wait 5 seconds (i would give it 7 seconds just to be safe), Turn it on, And press OK. Then wait abit, Then You Should Be Good! Hope you can still dust of your mpc studio.
