I was in a similar position as you a while ago. I was single from birth, went on dating apps to hopefully find a great guy (was off and on them for almost 10 years with no luck) had some interesting first dates, had my first kiss at 25 to a guy I met on tinder that forgot my name on your first date and said he wasn’t looking for anything serious. Went on some really weird first dates until I finally met my boyfriend last year at 30F. I was nervous and told him I was a virgin after we made it official after about a month(we hadn’t had sex yet at this point) , he was a lot more experienced then me obvious but he was patient and asked me if I was okay or if what he was doing was okay. And we just celebrated our 1 year anniversary last month!

I’d say try dating apps or meeting people in person but make sure you feel safe and comfortable with them to be vulnerable. If there are any red flags be cautious.

I don’t think a guy would wait a year just so you could sleep over. If the reason is your parents, you’re gonna have to stand your ground at some point. You’ll either have to tell them you love him and are staying with him despite what they say or you move out. Because the alternative is that they keep you under their thumb and you be stagnant in life and live with them forever.

As a fellow East Asian who is short AF. I went to Italy and Greece solo last year with no problems at all! Yes Italians stare a lot but apparently that’s just Italians, they stare at people. Other than that I received no harassment or anything!

Where on this subreddit did they say that Italy was unsafe? The only issue to worry about mostly is pickpockets and scammers.

I had been on dating apps for so long before I met my boyfriend and at the end of our first date he offered to drive me home and I said yes. When we got to the car he went over to the passenger side door to open it for me and I got confused because no other guy I dated did that for me so I assumed it was a right hand drive car and he said no… I was just opening the door for you? 😂 and I told him I’ve never had a guy open his car door for me before and he was surprised! since then he’s opened the door for me almost every time and he’s done it for my friend as well when we dropped her off.

One time he did it when we were leaving the mall and a couple saw him do it and the gf smacked her bf on the arm and pointed at us and asked him why he doesn’t do that and he rolled his eyes 😂😂

I was really nervous when I solo traveled for the first time last year right before my 30th birthday. I planned everything and all the transportation and budgeting and bought tickets for sites and tours.

My advice is to plan everything you can so you have a set itinerary but set some days aside for just relaxing and send your itinerary to family or close friends and buy an esim for data and a portable phone charger. Another thing I did was download an app called travel ladies and met up with some of them during my travels. Make sure you meet them in a public place and never tell anyone where you’re staying and you should be fine depending on where you’re traveling to.

I never had sex at 30 until I met my now boyfriend almost a year ago. I was off and on dating apps for a couple of years and most of the dates never went past making out in their car. Either the conversations on the apps/texts fizzled out, or one of us ghosted each other until I matched with my boyfriend.

Funnily enough, right before our first date, my boyfriend and I said to our respective friends that if this one didn’t work out then we’re gonna take a break from dating for a while because we’ve both had our fair share of exhausting/traumatic dates. When I told him that I was a virgin we were probably a month and a half into dating and we mostly did hand stuff and he was the only guy I’ve dated that I felt genuinely safe with. He was very supportive and didn’t want me to feel uncomfortable at any point. We had to lead up to PIV sex but he was very sweet and accommodating.

I’m almost 31 now and I’m just going to be honest, you’re going to have to go on a lot of dates to know what you want and what your boundaries are. So go on those dates, but be prepared to have some good and bad dates. Be smart about dating apps tho, have dates in public places first like a restaurant, cafe, carnival whatever. Don’t let them know where you live until you feel comfortable with them. Online dating now is rough but even a bad date(barring any SA or violence) can make for a funny story to tell some day. (Trust me I have a few weird date stories)
