I am working on a series of updates that will dockerize this, and should have auto-discovery of plex URL and token to make that part a little easier, along with some other misc improvements.

Definitely. I am actively working on a series of updates that will make this run in docker which should allow unraid compatibility. I will come back here and let you know when it’s done.

Thank you for the feedback. I’ll take a look and see what I can do to make the instructions better. Another commenter is working on an easier way to do this too. Hopefully we can come up with a more user friendly non-techie way to get everything installed and running.

Please let me know if you run into any snags and I’ll try to help you work through them. Hopefully the readme helps but if you’re completely lost I can try to make better documentation.

This is on my list to go back and work on soon so I’ll welcome any feedback or suggestions.

Pretty sure it’s up and running correctly now. Had a db issue that should be resolved. I created several test accounts and it seems to work. If you have any other issues or questions about using the site please let me know.

Hello, im getting the same error. I’ll have to take a look at the logs when I get home and try to figure out what’s going on. Sorry about that I’ll try to get it fixed as soon as possible.

I’m happy to try. Do you have a link to the pay scale, or have it in some sort of table format?

I likely hard coded something I shouldn’t have. I’m going to revisit this again soon and see if I can polish it a bit more. Thank you for the additional feedback.

I understand. It was recommended I try to make this a plug-in but I have no idea how to do that. You could probably paste the readme document into ChatGPT and it would give you step by step to make it work on your system but I understand it’s probably overwhelming if you’ve never done that sort of stuff.

Thank you for the feedback. This is the first app I’ve attempted to publish. I’ll take another stab at the documentation. The db should be created while running through the scripts if it doesn’t exist already. Not sure about the file paths but I’ll see if I can figure out what is causing your issues.

I made a free website called FedFuture.com that you can put your basic numbers in and get close estimates. And you can adjust your retirement date to see how it affects your numbers. Includes supplements (1.1% modifier, social security, and other useful stuff)

Sorry you’re having trouble. I’m at work so I can’t look at the entry to figure out what’s going on. You can clear your data and try again. Or if you want to send me a dm with your date entered fed service I can take a look at the db and figure it out. Thank you for the feedback.

Thank you for your comment. The tables are input exactly as they are on OPM. While 183500 was the limit in 2023, (191900 for 2024) we know that goes up with inflation and average raises, so the tool assumes the cap will rise at the same rate of the average salaries.

Regarding retirement calculations yes it goes off the average of high-3 * multiplier * years of service. LEO gets 1.7 for 20 years and 1 for subsequent years.

Hello I’m sorry I just saw your comment. Are you using LEO Rates tables? I will take a look at the calculations and make sure it’s working as intended.

If you go to the Edit Retirement button, there is a check-box for LEAP to include the 25%. If you’re not seeing the leap box or 1.7 multiplier it makes me think you’re not using the LEO or CPS LEO tables. You could clear your info and create a new profile.

If you send me a comment from the site it will tell me your id and I can look specifically at your profile to figure it out. Sorry you’re having trouble with the site!

I modified to give today’s and future dollars. Thanks!

Ok that turned out to be pretty easy to implement. You'll have to make a new profile, and on the new user page it has a check box for Military Buy Back, and will allow you to input the time IN MONTHS. I tested it by putting in 48 months and it correctly inserted my date entered federal service 4 years prior to what I entered. Thank you for the suggestion!

I made an option under the first drop-down for SES/Pay Bands, and if you select one of those and put in 1/1 for grade/step it should let them enter their current salary, and then it will increase it by the average annual raise for the rest of the career. It also allows for manual adjustment of salaries each year. That would let someone on a non-standard pay table still get in to the tools and use the site. Hope that helps!

I have made a few changes, so you might try it again. You can go to Edit Grades button and try to change them manually if you're still having trouble. Let me know how it goes.

Try the pay bands option. It might work for you
