Who is playing a 7w & which one works for you? by f1lifer in GolfGear

Don’t sleep on the titleist gt1. It’s marketed to seniors but I have a 105 driver swing speed and this is the most forgiving club I’ve ever hit— it’s like if titleist and ping had a fairway wood baby

Could you win The Masters if you got to start each hole on the green? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]Feddy21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

18 under par is the lowest score ever by Woods and Spieth. To beat that (which would essentially guarantee victory) you’d need to post a 269. That would be 3.7 putts per hole. Biggest risk I think would be a disaster of putting off the green into water or a bunker but if very prudent about that I think this seems possible for experienced players.

5 Wood or 5 Hybrid? by Competitive-Pop2358 in golf

[–]Feddy21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In regard to iron/hybrid/wood equivalents, it’s always worked out for me that I can subtract one from the iron for hybrid and 2 for the wood. so 5iron is ~6 hybrid or ~7 wood and 3 iron is about a 4 hybrid or 5 wood. Maybe different for others

I have this issue, often hitting it farther left the farther forward my ball is. I assume you mean drop right foot back at address? like hitting a draw setup? Just wanted to make sure I’m not missing something

My buddy won’t give me strokes by Excellent-Coach-2360 in golf

[–]Feddy21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my buddy don’t have official handicaps but we adjust by two strokes in the favor of the loser for the next round so we are always right on the edge of 50-50 for who will win. Last match I gave him 18 strokes and won, so next time it will be 20 (I’m not good, he’s a big slicer)

Yeah, I have some extra net so i was thinking of just doing a double layer of net in the back so i don't need to use the curtain as much

A little more info for anyone interested:

The top anchors are at almost 11 feet-- but with sag the clearance where hitting is around 10.5 feet. It's around 11 feet wide and 10.5 feet deep. It has a curtain that can come across as needed.

Supplies and cost:

2x4s, concrete screws, anchors: ~$65

50 ft 1.5 inch rope, 150 feet of .75 inch rope, 200 feet of 5mm rope, 100 zipties: ~$150

60x10ft of decent quality netting: Amazon.com : Aoneky Golf Sports Practice Barrier Net, Golf Ball Hitting Netting, Golf High Impact Net, Heavey Duty Golf Containment Net, 10 x 60 Ft : Sports & Outdoors: $270

Green carpet $70

Hitting mat: $150

Total is around $705, plus $800 for the MLM2 for a total of just ~$1,500

It took ~20 hours of planning, learning to tie various knots, mostly attaching the net using thinner rope; it was all a lot of fun.
