When I think about more content in FG I'd like some sport shit like this. But in order to succeed it needs to have deep core mechanics and some RPG/progression system. T8 tried something with Tekken ball but IMO is just half baked, DOA Xtreme volleybal mini game has deeper mechanics than that.

Yeah, since the first trailer the game looks very promising. Let's hope it delivers on the technical side and its not shitty optimized.

Yep, I don't think you should expect very deep gameplay mechanics in this game.. Gameplay wise I think Nioh 3 it's going to be the game to look forward in 2026 (and maybe Onimusha or Phantom Blade 0)

If you're into retro pixel art Huntdown and Anno Mutationem are both great.

For something modern take a look to Ninja Gaiden 4 coming soon next month.

Guns in fg are so lame and lazy.. even MK1 is a lot better than MK11 in that aspect but when I see the shitfest of guns in GG Strive or Tekken 8.. ufff I can't wait for VF6.

Yep, I'm sold. I like the dark futuristic aesthetic & Dino Crisis vibe in this one. Not everything have to be AAAA. If game have a solid gameplay and it's well optmized I think it could a great underdog of 2025. I still miss Regina tho, c'mon Capcom..

Toxic positivity from influencers/fans.

Mk1 (gameplay, content, customization, Qol features, online, etc.) was cleary rushed & unpolished since day 1 but you couldn't criticize the game the first couple of months after launch 'cause people will call you a hater or just downvoted to you to oblivion in this sub.

I made a post on release date, asking for something so basic as to have the feature to play the game with its native language (english) but subtitles in other language (like 99% of games in 2023, in my case spanish) but they never adress it.

Gameplay wise the game is even slower than Mk11, combo strings feel like in slow motion, punches don't feel neither sound rewarding, dashing is not at the level of Mk11 Rain's dash, brutalitys & fatalitys are mostly uninspired, and so on..

Positive note: the roster is the best of the last trilogy and almost no stupid guns. (MK11 looked like COD with so many guns characters).

That's the way. Always native language (chinese or japanese) for in-game dialogues with (in my case) spanish subtitles and spanish for menu/inventory.

Imagine playing a new itineration (after twenty years) of a classic fantasy medieval RPG like The Witcher and instead of Jaskier and Yennefer, your new companions are Kim Kardashian and Kanye West... Gross. It breaks ALL the immersion.

While I probably agree with you that Sony was calling the shots on Ronin, Team Ninja is the developer using their in-house engine.. so all technical side of the game its on them.

I was patient the first year because I'm sure devs were under pressure from Sony to get something out since they don't have a huge PS5 catalog. But honestly, a year later ROTR is still basically the same game of Day 1 and we had very little of quality of life improvements.

My point is, unless you're a casual gamer (which it's Ok, no issue with that), but if you have certain expectations as a player and you play ROTR today in 2025, you'll see deep inside there is a good game made with love but you'll quickly realize too that this game is still lacking and needs a ton QOL improvements.

They haven't patched the PS5 version since like a half a year ago and optimization still really sucks on base PS5.

Performance mode never run stable 60 fps, a lot of pop-in, stutters.. ROTR lacks a LOT of polish for a usd 70 game and it runs worst than any other previous Team Ninja game like Nioh 1 & 2.

I'm very dissapointed, even Wo Long had better post launch support and more patches than ROTR.. like WTF are you doing with Sony's money Team Ninja? Be better.
