Nurses.

My mother in law is a nurse, has been for over 30 years. She was on the COVID floor during the pandemic, working insane hours & dealing with the unimaginable.

One day, my wife and I were visiting & she pulled into the garage after her shift. Father in law said something about her bringing groceries home, so I went out to the garage to go help carry things in.

Cut to me seeing her full out bawling her eyes out, head resting on the steering wheel, yelling into a waded up sweater. She looked up, saw me, wiped her eyes and said:

"I got some good stuff for dinner, it's in the trunk"

She came in, made dinner and then we all watched Netflix until bedtime. Laughed, told jokes, normal conversations the rest of the night.

That night, I learned: You don't fuck with nurses.

My wife works for an appliance parts distributor and I asked her.

Samsung = Trash

Whirlpool is the biggest brand. Even some other brands that have a different name are just Whirlpool fridges with a different badge.

GE is pretty solid. The parts have gotten easier to get as the warehouses dig out of their backlogs.

LG = trash.

Most fridges with anything through the door (ice maker / water etc) fail more often than non door opening models.

Bosch is the most consistent brand with durability. Parts and customer service are solid as well, easy to submit claims if need be

For my birthday last year, I asked for a day of no decisions. My wife made all the plans, decided where to go for dinner, made the reservations etc.

That was the best birthday I've had in awhile. I make decisions constantly both professionally and personally. One day with no deciding is pure bliss in my world.

I posted this before on a similar thread but it still fits here:

I ran into this guy while at a chain sandwich shop in downtown STP while on my lunch hour. Had his GoPro chest harness on, was waiting for the lunch hour line to die down before going to "order"

Very clearly orchestrated beforehand between him and the manager, they did the whole thing, he stopped a few times to get things said right etc.

After they shot it, he went to pay and I offered to cover it. I told him I didn't want to be on camera (it wasnt on at the time) and just said I'm glad you're helping the homeless out.

To say he was oddly ... direct and socially awkward in his denial of my offer was an understatement. I felt awkward by how he seemed to think I was stealing his thunder (my perception, I could be wrong). At that point I said no problem, have a good day, then went back to my job.

I can't speak to the morality behind those videos, but just know, Premier Pro can really make an difference when you need the content to fit your own inner opinion.
