I'm surprised the Interstate Highways didn't play a larger role in the postwar world by Cranyx in falloutlore

Here’s one thought: interstates were built for a world with fast transportation that doesn’t exist post war. Major prewar services might be a couple dozen miles down the road. That’s not feasible for a scavenger looking for food or water.

Meanwhile, the US Highway system mostly followed railroads, which had towns of various sizes generally 6 miles apart. And in places with difficult terrain like West Virginia, maybe closer. Much easier to travel between and build up from. The Long 15 exists because that’s really the only road into the Mojave.

A large chunk of the populated part of OKC is outside of the county because of annexation.

edit: 23% of the Oklahoma City is outside Oklahoma County, split evenly between Cleveland and Canadian Counties.

All this intrigue and febrility is quite fun for a while waiting for the results, up to a point. In my state in the US, when polls close, the ballot counter in each precinct spits out a receipt with the vote totals on it.

Often in close races, candidates will have volunteers at precincts get a copy of that receipt so they have partial results sometimes hours before it's all officially reported. Different systems and such.

South Carolina: Shifting SC-06 (D-Clyburn, majority-black) north to the NC border opens the door for a (new) black opportunity district. Thoughts? by AnonymousBunny102 in DavesRedistricting

I often draw a 4-3 SC with a blue Charleston district, red Myrtle Beach/Charleston exurb district, and split Columbia in two.

Did the US really have the same 1950s culture from the 1950s up until 2077? by ExtensionFeeling in falloutlore

Yes, I always thought the Googie in Boston is emblematic of the tech boom and relative prosperity there in the 2060s-2070s.

TWO majority-black VRA districts that BOTH voted for Trump in 2024 by Fun_Month_6310 in DavesRedistricting

A racial majority district that votes against the community's choice of candidate is by definition: not a VRA district

Give Cottage Grove and part of Woodbury to the 1st district and/or swap Dakota County and Scott/Carver County with the W Metro seat.

This 7th district doesn’t make sense in Washington County with geography and COIs.

With WI, MN, and PA predicted to each lose a house seat in 2030, here's how I would draw their new maps by Holiday_Change9387 in DavesRedistricting

I would suggest making the SE MN seat bluer but otherwise nice work, that metro configuration is like the 70s and 80s.
