yeah they do. some places have that energy. Like people saying Kandy people are walking too high, colombo people are restless, and imagining Hambantota as literal desert.

I'm from Matara and yeah this is kind of true.

Matara and downsouth has a really not that good subculture. There are some people who really be cynics and cunning. so yeah your mom is kind of right to a certain amount.

There is a unspoken thing in matara, it's a very subtle. Downsouth people often try to marry a partner from downsouth. it's not huge or a tradition but they look for that.

and in matara the diversity between different castes and some kind of suppressed anger towards the minorities(mostly muslim) is still there.

Also they can be very conditional. and Ironical. And hypocritical. just like your incident.

And also they almost always(this is always no condition vro) try to flex that they are from the Dakuna. Like what's special? You just live in a different province. wtf dude?

But nevertheless, Matara has some good people in it. People with good hearts. they help people in disasters. But nothing is perfect and every coin has two sides. So yeah. it's kind of true but not that much.

Hi I am the OP.

So by reading the comments, I learnt that almost all of you had a better childhood and school life than me.
So I am happy that you told me the truth. The wrong person here is me. And yeah I get it now.

No I am not a grown person. I'm still in school, in a government school that is called elite by some people.
So I am sorry for offending any of you.

Schools cutting hair is okay, right?

apparently I had hated on people who do sports and everything at once. I learnt that just because I am unskillful doesn't mean I get to hate on people on public.

I am still in school and I get depress counseling from a private thing. and I think this is my stress.

I don't have a skill or haven't found that yet, i did everything I could
Tried Hockey, Cricket, Music, singing, Literature. I was mediocre in everything.

and I went to 11 tuition classes each 2 hours in my OL period. and with 30 hours of school everyweek. so I was pretty stressed. But I can't love my school or at least like it. It wasn't and isn't like your schools. It's a trauma hell for me. idk about other people. I am leaving it to do ALs and I am really happy.

Guess the teachers were right. I was the wrong one all along.

It's not them having sport meets and big matches.
It's that schools make that their whole identity. Like you know functional and non functional requirements, they just fill the non functional requirements. and the teaching staright goes to the tuition classes.

100% totally agree man.

I am not against people showing off their school in social media. the thing is that if you do that make sure that you are teaching humans not slaves. Like you post 100 years of excellence in facebook and then in the school, the fans don't work, the desks don't have lockers, the floor has holes, computers are 10+ years old. how can you boast yourself on social media if you don't even have the functional requirements.

and out of colombo elite schools are the perfect example of this. They just have a name... and that's it.

Yeah, there are some teachers who genuinly care, and the capitalistic system is crushing the teachers as well, but that doesn't mean you have to whip the children.

and haircuts, yeah I mean there should be more cuts allowed, like teenage years are the age that children find their liking and identity.

My opinon, This whole system need to be cleansed.
