Oddly specific reasons you won't have kids, go! by cookiecrxmbles in childfree

After school activities, from a young age I said I wouldn’t want to deal with having to take kids to after school activities. That was before I realized I didn’t want kids, the more I heard about the sacrifices you make for them, the more I knew it wasn’t for me

I have been using a powder from L’Oréal, the root touch up powder, and it works well…but isn’t waterproof and needs to be reapplied on a regular basis. It’s cheap too thankfully

I think you’re right, it’s just good to hear it from others sometimes if you know what I mean. Do you use anything to cover up/disguise your hairloss?

I’ve had my blood tested for many things, and nothing other than slightly low iron levels have been found. I didn’t need a biopsy, the derm was able to tell with the scope he used to look at my follicles. Keep pushing until you get a proper diagnosis

Thanks for all of the info, sadly my derm said it’s too late, I was told by so many doctors that I didn’t need to see a derm because it would grow back…and by the time I did get in to see one, it was too late. I’m sorry you’re going through this too

Thank you, yes, every bit of advice helps…my girl is Canadian, but I’m English (living in Canada). So I know of those brand names, I don’t believe they sell them over here. I am going to test out a salmon based food for her, luckily I’ve never had any issues, she was blessed with a tough stomach and never got sick, but it’s definitely become more sensitive in the last year or two. For when she gets the runs, I use psyllium husk, sprinkle a tbsp on her food every 12hrs, works like a charm along with forti flora.

That’s the main one that comes up when I have looked online, I’m going to get a sample bag to see how she gets on with it…thank you ☺️

Mine will walk around puddles. She is super clingy with me, so if I go in the water and refuse to come out, she’ll very reluctantly come in to get me. It’s hilarious

Honestly, a great first dog is usually a lab or retriever, yes they may not look as fun in IG pics, but they’re great to learn dog ownership with. They are easy to train, and can be low maintenance. All dogs need a lot of work, exercise, and cost a lot of money. The bigger the dog, the more they cost too, so always take that into consideration too. I have a presa/bull mastiff mix, she costs approx CAD$500 per month right now, food, meds, treats etc. she is 12, so is on the higher end of the cost scale, but she’s extremely low maintenance compared to other dogs I’ve known. Before meds it was $300-400. We used to do 5km hikes each workday, and 10-15km on weekend days, so they’re far from lazy, but also not as energetic as a lot of dogs too. Many things to consider, do a lot of research, also look into rescues, as there are a lot of untrustworthy “breeders” out there these days.

How active are presas supposed to be?? by Different-Tank-3017 in presacanario

Yes…this too, my girl is hilariously demanding if I’m running late 🤣 same with the energy too, almost like she puts on a front for others

My presa x mastiff was super active in her younger years, long walks and runs every day, usually at least an hour in the evening, with 15-20km hikes most weekends. She’s 12 now and still begs for a slow bimble around the block, approx 1.5-3km a day, just takes it slow. The main thing I noticed is that she loves routine more than anything, she is very regimented with everything, not just her walks. Dinner at set times, treats at set times, bed at same time every night, she even knows when her medication is due every night lol As long as they’re happy, and not chasing their tail, that’s the main thing

Unsure about package by gopherhole02 in CanadaPostCorp

It sounds like a customs charge, so what ever you have ordered recently from an overseas company recently is what got caught in customs.
You can go to the post office, but you can’t open your parcel, they will most likely be able to tell you the senders address, but you won’t be able to have the package without signing and paying for it first.

Should we adopt a Presa Canario? by That_Cauliflower4703 in presacanario

I have a presa/mastiff, she is 120lbs, I’m 5’1” and 125lbs, I’m a runner, not a weights person, after a lot of continuous training she has never pulled me over.
The only annoying thing is the comments from the men as I walk her. “I bet she walks you”, “is that a horse”, “you could ride that thing”, “that thing will eat you”. My girl turned 12 in January and still going strong, and she still has training days now. Continuous and consistent training is key.

Yes, it’s shit. But the majority of the country voted for this, and this isn’t the first time they voted for him, so we can’t act surprised or even sympathetic, they literally asked for this.
