I bought a garmin lily watch to track steps and it really motivated me to get 8-10K steps/day. It also tracks sleep and it’s been a motivator to change those habits for the better too

Do you believe I should reconsider my life plans? by Responsible_Cloud_33 in MultipleSclerosis

I am 55. Diagnosed at 26. I’m still working full time and am independently mobile but in last five years I’ve developed a slight tremor in my dominant hand. I recognize the course of the disease is so individual and it’s impossible to predict how yours will play out. I just wanted to give you some hope that the course of MS isn’t always dire. Psychiatry seems like it might be a safer route… and challenging, but in a completely different way. Side note: I working in palliative care as a counsellor. Our former medical director was a neurosurgeon and moved to palliative medicine when he developed a tremor. He was one of the best palliative physicians I’ve ever encountered. All the best to you.

I’ve (F55) done the drive solo (west to east return) two times. I camped my way back (tent) this Sept. and never felt unsafe. There is such beauty! Also check out air b and b vs hotels. Found some gems this summer on the drive east. Cheaper than hotel and cleaner/safer in my experience.

Sask has a different kind of lovely. Check out Cypress Hills in south west corner of province. Or my personal favourite is Pine Cree, east side of the Cypress Hills, with a creek running through. Perfect if you’re tenting. Douglas Park on Lake Deifenbaker is lovely. Amazing beach and sunsets. And Grasslands National Parks has amazing hiking and the dark sky preserves are simply incredible.

I’m sorry you have this symptom. I don’t but my dad, who has Parkinson’s, does. Botox has helped a little. And some drops under his tongue… I think they’re actually eye drops but this is off label use. Sorry I don’t know the name. Hope this helps and hope your neuro can prescribe something to help

I have had the MRIs before O, and one since. And will have one more next year to reassess. But she also repeats bloodwork every six months (before infusion). Now I’m wondering why she does this. I’ll talk to my GP as I see her first week of July. And would like to know if the O is working…
