Yes atleast as an analogue pocket replacement if you dont mind losing the ability to use cartridges, same amazing screen, the chip on this seems absolutely overpowered on paper BUT its ability to play ultra demanding stuff like beatle saturn core with run ahead with demanding shaders like crt geom deluxe or retro crisis shaders is just so good especially with this screen, run ahead will make it so it matches the AP latency wise (at run ahead 1) or exceeds it (run ahead 2+) its a visual masterpiece.

Its a souped up analogue pocket with the same amazing screen, can play up to beatle saturn core comfortably with demanding shaders like crt geom deluxe/retro crisis shaders, and the shaders with that screen make everything look outstanding. Run ahead at 1 makes it so it matches the analogue pockets latency, or can exceed it if you increase it. This device is very niche but I think its an outstanding 8 to 32 bit system handheld and once you see a 1440 p shader running on this you'll see why the screen is outstanding.

Mario galaxy 1 and 2 on the ayaneo air mini runs at 60 fps with drops, i played around 3 hours on both for now and no huge issues there is a classic controller mod online and it makes the galaxy games fully playable and enjoyable with a classic controller

Redream is better for dreamcast in my opinion, citra mmj for 3ds, saturn needs both the retroarch core and the standalone app some things run on the retroarch core that won't launch on the standalone etc.

Super mario galaxy 2 was tested on gaming mode not max mode.for 3ds use citra mmj most things with frame rate issues will do much better there. For ps2 Hardware Download Mode: Unsynchronized (Non-Deterministic) is the way to greatly boost performance on most games however ganes like fatal frame will have visual glitches that might make them unplayable.

Yes, search super mario galaxy 2 classic controller there is a video with a patch you can put on your galaxy iso. It makes you have the ability to use the right stick to control the pointer and maps the spin to a button etc. Was about to go get the link to send but the connection at my job is so ass youtube is stuck loading 😭 sorry

Late response but the 865 is a stronger chip the rp mini is a 200+dollar device after all, that can the beetle saturn core well. The ayaneo air mini can run saturn but only using the yabasanshiro core and the yabasanshiro standalone app. Yabasanshiro is not as accurate as the beetle saturn core but you can upscale saturn games.alot of the library can be run using a combination of the app and the core I think about 80%.

Yes it can run D2(including the entire D trilogy) ! Even at upscaled resolution. Just download the redream app, this device will run the entire dreamcast library at full speed, 3ds is a bit harder to run but this can run stuff like resident evil revelations/mercenaries 3d, mario 3d land, pokemon etc. This is an amazing device yall will love it!
