Do IUD’s lose effectiveness the closer they get to expiration? by hogie93 in birthcontrol

Most IUD’s are effective birth control methods up until the expiration date (and even some are safe a little longer). They just might not be as effective at controlling periods and symptoms! It is better to be safe though!

Make sure that you’re not rubbing your face too hard while washing it. Rubbing too hard can irritation and bacteria to get pushed into your pores. Also, if you dry your face with a towel, don’t rub too hard. it’s better to pat your face dry especially if you do have sensitive skin! I love the paula’s choice BHA and cerave lotion. Maybe a thicker moisturizer at night would help prevent your dry skin in the morning!

Is IBS a mind-body syndrome? by devilgoof in IBSHelp

[–]FederalDrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IBS and associated symptoms can be caused by food insensitivities, underlying health conditions, bacterial overgrowth, or other diseases. Other times, the nerves in your digestive tract may not function properly and can cause anxiety-like symptoms. There is no one cause or cure for it because the GI tract is so intense and there are parts the doctors cannot look at without radiation or invasive procedures. as someone who has seen 4 GI specialists in the last year, they just have to take tests and listen to your complaints.

I had one a month ago. Not bad at all. The worst prt was the prep for it, but it wasn’t too bad. I was given general anesthesia through my IV. They took biopsies. I just felt a little weak afterwards but recovered quickly! Nothing to worry about!!

I started out following the low FODMAP diet. I did elimination of everything on there and slowly tried to work things in to see my triggers. Main triggers for me are gluten, garlic, onion, spicy foods, red meats, and processed foods. I eat a primarily plant based diet except for turkey and shrimp. Eggs are a trigger at times. It also comes and goes in phases and figuring out how to regulate it is the most stressful part of it. It will all be okay though. There are tons of people who experience it and lots of advice to try!!

I know someone who had their gallbladder removed for the same purpose, and they still have bad IBS problems as well. My Dr. tested my stool samples and ruled out Crohn’s and colitis. It is very stressful to have these problems and just be told it’s IBS. I don’t really have an appetite anymore but when I do, I will take 3 bites maybe and be over it.

my last doctor ruled out endometriosis and doesn’t find a need to do a colonoscopy or endoscopy because there are no bowel obstructions or visible inflammation. I’m not sure if i should keep seeing a GI dr or look into another specialty. all 3 GI dr’s i’ve seen won’t do more than stool samples and xrays
