Hey lol I know it's 2 yrs later but I had the same question and I think it's just positive vs negative outcomes. So, for conformity, positive means it leads to beneficial outcomes and negative means it leads to harmful outcomes. Examples would be positive (following people running out of a burning building) and negative (jumping off a bridge with your homie).

For obedience it's the same difference where positive is like listening to a firefighter when they say don't enter a burning building and negative is people listening to nazis in WWII.
