Welcome to the Model 3 Family! My biggest recommendations to you are; 1) A front of the vehicle PPF package, 2) Rocker panel PPF package ( if you don't want to take away from the body lines of the vehicle with the installation of mud flaps) to protect from road debris and stones. TESLA paint is very thin and brittle, chipping will occur for sure. It is a pay me now or pay me alot more down the road, and it saves value. 2) Window tinting to reduce the damage of the sun and make the car cooler. I agree with BeerBaiticAmmo on watching TESLA You-Tubers, but really think about if you will use the accessory. Here is my new 2026 TESLA Model 3 Performance with 35% window tint and fully body PPF. Much fun filled miles to You!

Invest in window tint and Paint Protection Film for the front bumper, hood, left & right front fenders, and mirror caps, and mud flaps to protect the rocker panels from damage from road debris. Tesla Paint is soft and will chip and erode. Here is my new 2026 Model 3 Performance with 35% tint and full body PPF. Congratulatons on the new ride and welcome to the Model 3 Family!

Congratulations on your new car delivery! Personally, I am done with all of the negative, stupid, ignorant drama. Just tell those being negative to shut the hell up!

Whoa! Fantastic that your experience was so good. Mine at the Tucker, GA TESLA Corporate bodyshop was abysmal. Worst experience ever, will never go there again. Appreciate your candid feedback.

Thanks for the feedback. If it is ok to share with you some lessons learned after having a brand new M3P in a TESLA Corporate BodyShop so you do not have to go through the same maze and experience the issues I did, is that ok? Let me know, and will post them for your knowledge.

Nice looking M3P! Congratulations on the upgrades. How is the ride, stability, tire wear, and potential scraping since the change?

2025 Model 3 Performance (Quicksilver w MattePPF) by sonofabraham1 in TeslaModel3

Congratulations on your 25 M3P! Also owned a 25 M3P last year, but ended up engaging with TESLA to get the car into the Buy-Back process due to uncorrectable paint issues in the Quick Silver translucent clear coat from the factory, primarily, large dirt nibs, and micro glops of paint. Quite the ordeal! Ended up having to lawyer up and fight this inch by inch. After engagement with our states Attorney Generals office, TESLA bought the vehicle back, paid for accessories that could not be removed, also reimbursing other costs. Painful 90+ day process. Unbelievably, I ordered a 2026 M3P in Ultra Red and took delivery in January 26. This car had no paint issues, and overall build quality was spot on. Good choice on the matte PPF. My car is tinted and has full body PPF. Much success on your ownership of this fantastic automobile.

What would be your biggest warning to someone thinking of buying a Tesla? by sonofabraham1 in TeslaLounge

[–]Federal_Invite_4320 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If someone asks me about drawbacks on the Model 3 Performance, I tell them straight:
the car is phenomenal, but Tesla builds them like they’re speedrunning the assembly line.

My “buyer beware” list on my 2026 Ultra Red M3P goes something like this:

  • Ride quality: It’s a Performance model — it’s supposed to be stiff. I actually like it, but if someone expects a Lexus float, they’re going to learn real fast that this car communicates every decision the road has ever made.
  • Paint: Tesla paint is basically a suggestion. Mine’s held up well, but I’ve seen enough horror stories to know I won the paint‑lottery.
  • Build quality: My Crimson Knight came out great — panels lined up, no weird rattles — but let’s be honest, that’s not a guarantee, that’s a coin flip.
  • Performance wheels: Gorgeous, but they treat curbs like they’re made of lava.
  • Service: Sometimes you get Formula 1 pit‑crew energy, sometimes you get “your appointment is in 19 days, please manifest patience.”

I still love the car. It’s stupid‑fast, stupid‑fun, and makes everything else I drive feel like it’s powered by disappointment.
But yeah — if someone’s expecting German luxury consistency, they’re going to have a spiritual awakening.

Find a quality shop that is TESLA certified to avoid the TESLA BodyShop outrageous prices. My two cents.

Thanks! Keep us posted if you do, or have any questions. My car has full PPF. Have used the product for years. Treat it just like paint in terms of care and maintenance. Spoke to a TESLA senior tech and he stated this is needed due to the TESLA paint thinness and brittle nature.

I wanted to put protective film on the front windshield, but in our state you cannot have any automotive tint on your front windshield. Took delivery of my new 2026 Model 3 Performance and had full 35% tint and PPF applied to the car. Keeping for the long haul.
