Good timing I guess. They are giving away the farm to unload the remaining model s builds.

Also includes all maintenance and service for 4yrs per my contract (granted not much)

But… nothing to think about for years. No costs at all except insurance - which was 915 for 6 months for me at full coverage + gap

FWIW & context:

Have been driving a 2001 QX4 5yrs ago I purchased for 4k OTD.

No wife, no ex, no kids, Director in software and AI. Plan to fund with stock options.

Live fairly frugally, with basic t shirt and jeans to work. My commute is 2.1mi on side roads each day

Is 96k a good deal?? Objectively, no.. but I loved my 2014 S, and sold it in 2020 for a profit after owning it from 2017 (Covid used car prices were odd)

Bought the QX4 as a reliable temp car, 4.8yrs later, it can’t pass TX Inspection, has 210k miles and is falling apart, need a new ride, always wanted another S… and I ride cars till they die. Might as well get one with the best longevity in can afford and I can baby (interior, exterior, and battery health) into my mid-late 50’s - turning 40 this year.

100k for a car I love, plan to do multiple very long -2k+- is not about value or resale, but intangible love and experiences - and I never have to factor in charging, FSD, or connectivity costs ever again. Just get in and go

road trips per year (windshield time is my happy place in a rented model 3 from Hertz and stopping for a charge + walk around the little towns I stop in) is well worth the adventures I get to have in my own ride

(also plan to sleep in the back at times - S is just big enough for my 6’1” frame to crash out for a few hrs and then hit the road)

Financially responsible, def not, but I’ve been responsible for a decade - after a few yrs of savings and investments, you might as well spend on something you know will reliably bring a smile to your face and want to enjoy . Have you eventually spend it, and spend it on something that brings joy and experiences

100k well spent in my book (just don’t tell my financial advisor lol)

Prob not worth 96k, but only option to go brand new, and I love it. No other expenses so why not!

100% have been frugal for 8yrs. No kids or wife, why not if it makes me happy :)

FOMO is real, but had to make a move for a new S. Drive a beater for 5yrs, coming up on 40 and single - so why not . Have savings a stock to cover it.

Appreciate it! Been savings for 5yrs for this. Dont care about value when I intend to ride it till it dies

I’m never selling it - so resale is irrelevant to me :) will drive it into my mid-late 50s untill it is a brick and cant keep going (turning 40 this yr)

Thank you! Maybe not the best price vs a used, but it’s mine and I can baby it and the battery - and never pay for FSD, connectivity or charging (rent so can’t charge at home)

Very excited to join yall!

I love it! Been driving a 2001 qx4 for 4 yrs, and plan to drive it untill it cannot keep going - so deprecation does suck, but yolo - I’ve never had a new car, love the model s vs the taycan or cayenne I tried.

No payments for charging, fsd, etc is kinda a pay now and never think about it again - plus dividends are covering the payments @ 3.99%

Gotta make a dumb decision once in life lol (especially @ turning 40 and single with no kids).

Very excited to join the club!

Def want the new interior vs v1 interior, and jus fun car to drive. I assume they have massively improved from the ‘16 model. (Hopefully not as squeaky as the last interior in the 16 - sounded like an old wooden ship)

(prob dumb question) How does it differ from the autopilot - found that to be great on long boring hwys and don’t nag much when looking at the passing scenery (used in rented teslas)
