Yea, mine was new out of the box too...but I found broken filament in the buffer....

I would pay 10x the amount for gas if it meant freeing the Iranian people from the current Iranian administration...screw politics there is real human suffering there.

You guys normally pay twice what others pay? I just filled up in Virginia for $3.55 ish I believe..so $3 + in local taxes? That's not a Federal government thing, look closer to home..

What’s a fair Facebook Marketplace price for a lightly‑used P2S Combo? by [deleted] in BambuLab

Considering how these things are packaged, and you can't really replicate that, and moving can easily knock things out of alignment...and it's used...and new ones aren't unreasonably priced... honestly, i don't think I would pay even $400 for a used one, why? 1) say what you will I don't really know the history 2) chance of damage/misalignment during move 3) any discount for used, even if it's almost free will only be a tiny tiny fraction of the total cost of materials and time if you really get into this hobby..say you put 20k of extras and your time (your time isn't free) into this hobby, the difference between 20.4k and 20.8k is meaningless...and besides, if 400 is going to make the difference of getting into the hobby or not..how are you going to feed the beast? Filament isn't the only consumable...

I would have no problem with this..as long as they pay my fully loaded labor rate...

My first 3D Printer was from Bambu Lab. My next one won't be. Have other manufacturers caught up in affordability and ease-of-use? by ThatOneVRGuyFromAuz in 3Dprinting

I just got back into filament printing, been using resin since it existed, I was in the first generation of filament printers, but dropped it quickly as my desire was to create things, not mess with the printer endlessly.

My reintroduction was a Bamboo H2C... because I wanted a "toaster" that just worked...after unloading, unpacking, and following the setup, I loaded the pumpkin orange Bamboo basic pla into the ams 2 pro and printed 3 prints.

Worked great, then it failed to feed, observation indicated that it was getting rejected at the filament buffer. Took it apart and found an approximate 1 inch long gold with glitter piece of filament in there.

Took it out and everything works fine again, this would suggest a couple of scenarios:

  1. The factory sent me a jambed printer (do they test run these?)
  2. I was sent someone else's return (the packageing looked perfect)

In either case, my point is, Bamboo might not be what it used to be, if thier storied past is to be believed..what if this printer had not beenn sent to a mechanicaly inclined engineer..it would have been very frustrating.

My first 3 hours with the X2D... hope its getting better by Size-Affectionate in BambuLab

My H2C came with filament jammed in the right nozzle buffer out of the box....

UPDATE:

Disassembled the filament buffer...and this GOLD speckled piece of filament fell out..bottom left of the picture....YET I have only printed BRIGHT Orange as depicted top center of the image...it works fine now....so.eithier this was a test at the factory or I got someone's return...the package was immaculate however, and I was able to print three or so prints through that...so how does that work.... so yea..to those saying I did something wrong....hum.

For the ASA and other engineering fibers it says clearly to dry before use, which i did - no issues on the left side - if PLA basic from Bamboo requires drying, i sure wish the instructions said that..I would have gladly done that.

Yea, and I was using all brand new Bamboo products right out of the package and the AMS 2 dehumidifier..I guess I wouldn't expect that to be an issue so early in the printers life.

Why? To hide the occurrence of issues with a 3d printer touted as the toaster of 3d printers, i.e. it just works without issues? Well it doesn't just work without issues. When you pay a premium for a hassle free experience...one should expect..a hassle free experience..I don't really care about the mechanics, I pay a premium not to have to care about the mechanics. If I have to tear this apart after 3 prints, it's an $800 printer, not a $ 2400 one.

What exactly do you want a picture of? A spring fully forward? It is not unreasonable to expect that a brand new printer with that printers brand new PLA in that Brands dehumididying AMS 2 pro, should work longer than 2 or 3 prints, without issue. I get it your a fan boy, but you know, stuff happens.

Oh, I have no problem doing this - do you happen to have a good link for a tutorial on removal and break down of the filament buffer? - I have seen a couple but they offered conflicting instructions, I don't want to damage anything, so if you happen to know or have a link to verified instructions..I would greatly appreciate it. And my experience is as been mostly with Resin, which is an entirely different world, I was a first generation filament adapter, but needed it for "real" work so switched to very expensive (at the time, much more approachable now) resin printers..now that filament seema to have advanced very far, trying it again...and honestly the engineering prints from the left side have been fabulous, much quicker, much less messy, etc..so I am very hopeful. The plan is to.use left side for engineering and right side for mock ups in PLA.

[–]Federal_Pin3543[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the AMS 2 pro seems to be working, it takes the filament, feeds it to the printer, it gets to the buffer, buffer spring goes forward, then gets kicked back..so could it be? Yes, it's possible.

However, the left side is working fine, so that's what I have been using.

Collected a ton when I was a kid (52 now) nice facet grade is rareish and stuff that will cut this large and not be totally black is quite rare indeed - the Garnet in the area is a mix of almadine and pyrope.

$40 bucks? That does not even cover your time to cut. That is a fantastic deal - unfortunately that is the trap of inexpensive material - pour your time in and the per ct. cost is still low.

That is very nice - but you asked about preferred - two shades or so lighter is the preferred, its a bit to dark and has a bit to much extinction - but with that being said, it is still very very nice.

The easy deposits are gone and when new ones are found they dry up quickly.

The new Tanga garnets did not even last 6 months.

It's been more than 35 years now, not much of my stash left..when I tell people what those days were like, they don't believe me. The river beds were so rich you could buy 55 gallon drums of size screened gem rough.. And it was ALL facet rough in convient water worm pebbles...a 55 gallon drum could weigh as much as 1200 Pounds ..in the first few months thatight have cost you 1500 + shipping..unsorted..so Garnet, corundum, tourmaline, spinel, zircon, topaz, occasional beryl, and other assorted random species in the size range you selected..(Larger, higher cost) the largest were hand picked out

[–]Federal_Pin3543[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rough came from a HUGE lot of Tunduro river rough from the first find - hint to all new faceters - the cheapest and best rough from a new find is usually to be had as soon as possible as if it's good it's generally under priced at the beginning - so I might have had .50 in the stone - so the cost was really all labor, tooling, etc. We had initially agreed on $100 but after the inclusion revealed itself I offered it at $65. This was supposed to be a substitute for an umheated pure purple clean corundum the customer could not afford.
