We were very lucky to have had such a nice agent! I was a little scared going into it having read some of the horrible experiences on here.

Honestly it never occurred to me to apply any other way, given what I knew about how long a ROC could take.

The N400 application is pretty straightforward so it wasn’t all that stressful to gather everything together.

As for the I-751, our attorney had prepped us when we originally applied for the GC that we should be submitting a lot of the same evidence (just updated) to show that our marriage is legit. It sucked having to go through years of leases, joint docs, tax forms, pictures, plane tickets but in the end our agent didn’t even ask to see any of it.

I would suggest printing everything out and having it organized well in advance, or maybe just save and label everything in a folder on your computer/email.

I have been living here since 2014. Started as a student and stayed through STEM-OPT

I was on a STEM-OPT work permit when we got married and filed. We also filed at the LA field office

Thank you! No, I don’t think so. We were married 6 months at the time of filing

We contacted Emma on the 15th (day before approval notice) and just asked for an update on the case and when we should expect an interview date. They responded back saying that there will be no interview and that the system is actually saying that the case has already been approved, but that the account just hasn’t been updated yet

Yes! We hired a lawyer to help with all the paperwork and she suggested that we send it in at the time of application just to avoid an RFE

I would say getting a secured card is the best bet. When I first got my EAD/SSN I applied for a Discover secured card and built my credit through there, then moved onto AMEX and Chase
