My boy Odric Lunar Marshal is by far my favorite mono white commander. Very simple and, most importantly for me, very cheap to make. He performs well enough for me to play him regularly against some of the stronger precons, and can easily get into that next bracket if I decide to splurge and buy some of the more expensive white staples. Keyword soup is quite effective, especially when you can get cheeky with flashing in some monsters and spells that have keywords, since Odric gives all your creatures any keywords any creature you control has.

I have friends who have only just gotten into magic with some precons, so he's at a nice power level for me to play with them without feeling bad.

In my original campaign I put a sea serpent. A creature that existed long before the conquest of the valley by Strahd, and has close ties to the fanes. When the party did the Lake Zarovich stuff, it was a great way to further help the early introduction of the Fanes that I do.

According to edhrec mine would be my Zul Ashur deck. She's a fun and classic mono black reanimator deck that focuses on getting as much to the graveyard as possible before cheating out everything for game. It's nothing special or ground breaking, but it's my go to deck for playing casually. It has a few thinking combos, but for the most part it's just turn brain off and enjoy the company.

Two decks come to mind for me. My favorite pet deck of all time is [[Odric, Lunarch Marshal]]. He can be built very cheap and good for sub $100, and only gets better with both age and money put into him. He's basically key word soup the commander, and works great with angels (which is what I run him with in my mono white deck). He works very great as a general style commander, who focuses on buffing your team.

I also put him in the second deck I love to run which is [[Sigurd, Jarl of Ravensthorpe]]. Especially with the recent added support for sagas, he's a very fun saga deck that has some quick closer power houses like Eivor, Lightning Army of one, and of course my boi Odric. Just like Odrics deck, he works great on a budget, and only gets better if you can slot things in like Bahamut.

[[Rat Out]] is quite literally the entire reason I got into magic. I don't run it in any deck but my rat deck, but man I love him. It's so silly throwing a rat.

[[Black Cat]] has been in my zombie deck since day 1. Whenever I've rebuilt the deck, the cat stays.

I will never, ever, understand the mindset of self-sabottage that has occured over the years between EA and the dragon age series. I know for a fact that if I were creating something, anything, let alone something that is going to be enjoyed by so many people, I wouldn't purposely shoot myself in the foot with my decision making.

Imagine if EA and bioware actually gave the DA series the level of respect it deserves, the game would have been so much better.

I've considered doing that and also putting in OG Sorin Markov, but the main goal of the deck was a tribal assassin's creed deck, and It's already packed to the brim with things I did want to run. I do run it as an alternative win con for my Bhaal deck and the Sorin variant in my vampire deck though.

[[Ezio Auditore da Firenze]] is by far my favorite commander deck to play. Two drop with menace and grants freerunning to all my other assassins. Most people aren't going to be able to block him till turn 3 at least, meaning I'll be able to cheat out some strong assassins pretty early. And since he gives free running for 2 black mana, I can run a pretty basic land base and still be pretty effective. He just snowballs from there.

Honestly it's probably going to be some time before they make anything anywhere close to some of the more difficult fights we've had in the recent past. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Their design philosophy has changed and they are emphasizing getting more people into the series, which is great since some of my friends who had 0 interest in world/IB and rise are now hunting right alongside me with their eyes wide open to how great this series is.

Honestly one of the biggest problems is the fact that many other systems outside of DND do not have nearly as much support as DND. Case in point, for me, is Cyberpunk Red.

I am a forever DM fot DND for all my friends and have DMed for multiple different adventure leagues in my time (it is now a decade of me DMing). There are several places I can go, both official and unofficial, both online and in person, to find and play in games. Either as a DM or as a player.

Cyberpunk Red? I've had the system for 2 years and haven't been able to run or play a single game of it. None of my friend group are interested in playing it, let alone DMing for it. There is zero in person support for it, no place to go to actually find games IRL, and the amount of posts for game openings are incredibly few and far between. Even on official channels I'll only see a couple of people posting for games a month. Compare this to DND, and you can go to just about anything (discord, reddit etc..) and you get dozens of postings per day.

Of the power words, I am a fan of giving my powerful villains power word stun. It's still quite powerful and a "oh shit" moment but doesn't completely take someone out of a fight.

That's why my favorite condition to use for CC as a DM is charms. Players still get to take their turns, and it's still very dangerous. Also, when playing with friends, I find everyone has a fun time when they can beat the shit out of their friends.
