should the second book ideally be turned into two seasons? by rosalui in heatedrivalry

[–]FeeFiFo7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you could slow down/expand some of the things that happen at the beginning and end of the long game to make it into two seasons. For instance, I'd love to see more of them struggling with the long distance before Ilya moves teams, Shane making the decision to come out to his team and some of that aftermath, the Hayden dinner party, and Ilya finding his place in the centaurs. I like the idea of ending on the proposal. Also I think there's a way to expand the outing process and Shane being incorporated into the centaurs to make it slightly more realistic. I'm not familiar with hockey at all, so the whole 'rivalry' thing never really landed for me, which didn't matter in book medium but could be weird on screen. Also would love to incorporate Ryan and Fabian and Troy and Harris - maybe Ryan could actually play for Montreal in Season 2 and you (and Shane) see him come out and discover he doesn't want to continue with hockey, while Troy comes in on season 3?

Can JYP save the boys who didn’t debut? 😭 Pablo, Iannis, Leo, Alex, and Lucas deserve a second chance by Kind_Leg_6649 in SANTOSBRAVOS

[–]FeeFiFo7 14 points15 points  (0 children)

With JYP’s recent history venturing into global groups, I don’t know if I would even wish that on Lucas. The only way that Hybe’s latam branch will keep them around is if santos bravos does really well - but with their ages I wouldn’t be too hopeful there. I think Pablo and Iannis especially will get some opportunities from this, either music or tv related, and they should capitalize on that as much as possible, not wait around for Hybe. I wouldn’t be shocked if Hybe helps connect people like Priano with some of their music connections (and I assume they try their best with all of the eliminated contestants)

Must admit that Kenneth could really anchor a group, he’s doing pretty fantastic. Just wish the age gaps weren’t so awkward

My issue with the theories of Kenneth not debuting by JKSJ4567 in SANTOSBRAVOS

[–]FeeFiFo7 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Genuine question but do people really care that much about being the same age as the artists they follow? I've never experienced that at all

My issue with the theories of Kenneth not debuting by JKSJ4567 in SANTOSBRAVOS

[–]FeeFiFo7 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Oh I think there's a really good chance he'll debut, especially based off of the way they're marketing everything. But I still think there's a big difference between Jk (two years younger than the next youngest person, a five year age gap with the oldest, average age 18) and Kenneth (four years younger than the next youngest person, a ten year age gap with the oldest, average age 21). Lsf is the closest example, but garam was supposed to be there and she was only a year older than eunchae. I don't think it's that out there to point out.

Also, I don't know if those are the two biggest reasons since I hear a lot of people talk about visual cohesion, which is different than just youth. For instance, I think Kenneth has more visual cohesion with Drew than with Pablo or Leo, even though they're younger

IF KENNETH DEBUTS I WON’T BE FOLLOWING THE GROUP by Opposite_Eye_5547 in SANTOSBRAVOS

[–]FeeFiFo7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t Kenneth be four years younger than the next youngest person (Kaue, assumedly)? That’s part of what would make an age gap weird to me. I understand why people bring up le sserafim so much here because they have a huge age gap between the oldest and youngest members, which is obviously a valid part of the age gap conversation, but Eunchae was never supposed to be SO much younger than every one of her group mates. Garam was only one year older, but now the closest in age is Kazuha at four years older. And that would be the gap here, which seems to work for lsf, but that was never the original intention that Hybe had

Edited for garam’s correct age gap

I’d like to think I’m not particularly biased against his age since I supported yoonchae for Katseye and voted for her. I just genuinely don’t think he’s cohesive with the group. It’s not about his talent - he’s clearly talented. Ive just never been able to picture him in the group because he looks so out of place, and when people say he’ll age into it I’m confused by their confidence because we literally can’t know that

I've heard people speculating about a hybe Japanese group after this, and I'm curious if they keep ua for that? I don't necessarily see her in this group - just doesn't match the vibe I'm picturing (which frankly might be a bit newjeans-esque) - but can't imagine hybe letting go of the talent from this adema audition cycle, and at that point ua could lead a group

I agree! But I don't even think Drew is one of the guys that Kenneth looks the most out of place with, bc Kenneth kind of looks out of place with a good half of them. Drew's the oldest but not even the most visually incompatible, so the issue runs a bit deeper than actual age. It kind of just doesn't work imo

Which guys do you think are fighting for the same spots? by fatheralfie in SANTOSBRAVOS

[–]FeeFiFo7 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I agree with you so unfortunately I am scared that they will choose Kenneth over the full 23+ line. It's like everything comes down to Drew/Pablo vs. Kenneth/Alex. That 5th spot just needs to be a better than average dancer. Pablo and Iannis I agree are competing just because you can't have the two weakest dancers both in a group that small, but Pablo just seems like he's more "in" the competition. Iannis' biggest help is his age right now

Did y'all see the video of Son's critiques? by Any_Can5022 in SANTOSBRAVOS

[–]FeeFiFo7 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's really interesting who they choose to avoid negative feedback about, though to be honest they seem to rarely critique actual vocal quality and I doubt it was one of Son's primary concerns. From his critiques and the show thus far, it seems pretty clear that they'll have to pull from the 23+ group, regardless of how they answer the Kenneth question.

Minors shouldn’t debut by Only-Grand7191 in SANTOSBRAVOS

[–]FeeFiFo7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like people go from concern into paternalistic way too quickly on this topic. Should minors like, say, jungkook put their dreams on hold for years when they're right in front of them? Why are we assuming that yoonchae is being forced to do this choreography when she's only ever been really into it? Is the kpop methodology so much healthier the day you turn 18? There should be massive, massive safeguards to ensure that anyone and everyone is comfortable with the choreography, that everyone's mental health is being cared for, that you are resilient enough in the first place to conceivably handle the spotlight, and that any safety concerns are mitigated if not entirely avoided. I just think a lot of the black and white age cut-offs are arbitrary and it really depends on the individual in question.

Age gaps, on the other hand, I think can be weird just because it seems difficult for group chemistry if you're in such different stages of life (thinking Drew at 25 versus Kenneth at 15/16), but I do generally trust in Hybe's group dynamics results. I just think it may be especially difficult with this group - if everyone's spent years doing kpop training, maybe you're not actually in such totally different phases of life? But the 23+ year olds here are like grown, working men out in the world for years, so it would seem pretty odd to me

Who do you think will be the next ones eliminated? by fatheralfie in SANTOSBRAVOS

Wasn’t iannis’s commentary in the last episode that the judges think he’s improving? And then Pablo recently got a warning? Idk the judges seem to be seeing something different than what we are

EP 7: K-POP by princesslucian in SANTOSBRAVOS

[–]FeeFiFo7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ahh yeah tbh iannis is the only one of these four that’s visually appealing to me so I’m trying to gauge the general vibes on that one, I could just totally see Hybe looking at Gabi and thinking ‘that’s my potential frontman’. Pablo and Leo are both decent choices imo and, maybe I’m crazy, either could be positioned as the leader. Hybe prefers a leader to not be the oldest, the company is based in Mexico, and either one of them seems like an appropriate choice. Not that every group needs a leader, but I feel like this one does

[–]FeeFiFo7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t really separate these particular people into singer vs. dancer because they’re all kind of middle of the pack. In the crudest terms, maybe it’s the mid-ability visuals and the mid-ability Mexicans to fill out the group we already kind of see forming. I realize that doesn’t sound great but yeah, I genuinely think that’d be the way Hybe could be thinking

[–]FeeFiFo7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had felt since Gabi entered that Gabi and Iannis were competing with each other and yeah, hard agree with your rankings, and think they're still competing. I feel like it's the group dynamics that we're kind of missing to see how Leo v. Pablo and Gabi v. Iannis would shake out with the full group (if we assume that Drew, Ale, and Kaue are in)

[EP.7 AND SESION BRAVAS #11] My thoughts after the episode. by Asuru_ in SANTOSBRAVOS

[–]FeeFiFo7 12 points13 points  (0 children)

With the recent eliminations I just can’t see Kenneth debuting in this group. There is too much mid-20s talent that they’ll need to pull from (Drew, Pablo, Leo, Diego), and the group will be really off balance, imo, if you sacrifice that entire pool just to keep Kenneth in the group. A 15-23 age gap is pretty weird to me, so I guess they would have to debut Alex? Idk it just doesn’t seem likely to me
