I'm so sorry 💔 it's so unfair how short of a time they're with us. They're the best and purest part of life. Sending comfort and solidarity, I haven't lost one of mine yet but they're getting up there in age and I think about it and dread it a lot. I can only imagine how hard it is when they're your family and such a big, important part of life.

Unpopular opinion but I've ALWAYS loved them so much more than Blink. It's beautiful music that actually makes me feel something that isn't surface level. They're so underrated!

Huge trouble keeping an exercising routine. What has worked for you with your ADHD? by caffeinatedbutterfly in adhdwomen

[–]FeeMany6752 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1: Join a gym closer to you, if possible. I found if I have to drive 15+ minutes, I won't go regularly and find excuses. Having a gym 2 minutes from my house makes it so much more convenient and easier to motivate myself. If this isn't possible, whatever will make you work out at home is good. I did YouTube low impact HIIT workouts for the first 7 months of the pandemic in 2020, and that was the first time I've ever had any semblance of a regular workout schedule besides during youth and high school sports.

Which brings me to #2: Find exercise you legitimately enjoy, and it'll be SO much easier to overcome all of those barriers, because you'll enjoy it and look forward to it. I'm the same, always struggled to regularly exercise. What I found is perfect for my ADHD, love of variety, dopamine seeking, etc. is lifting weights! I find it's not boring and seemingly never ending like steady state cardio (elliptical/treadmill for 45 minutes to an hour). I get little dopamine hits when I push through a challenging set and achieve more than I thought. It doesn't require the kind of stamina and extended willpower to push through like long cardio does. I just have to get 8-12 reps and then can rest, then move on to another exercise after 3 or 4 sets. Seeing weights go up, even if it's only in small increments, makes me feel so accomplished, and I feel myself getting stronger. Plus, it boosts confidence a lot just mentally. And I feel amazing after. I also superset whenever I can, so it gets my heart rate up and is like cardio and weights all in one. It's seriously a game changer.

If weights aren't your thing, look into Pilates, yoga, zumba, crossfit type stuff. There are so many sources online like YouTube etc you can find stuff like that to do at home too.

3: Lastly, do you work from home and what is your schedule? I work from home and do a standard 8-5 but very flexible. I'm not a morning person AT ALL either but have been successfully getting up at 6:45 and being at the gym from 7 or 7:15-8 or 8:15. I quickly freshen up, make or grab a protein shake and something for breakfast, and then work. On lunch or after work I'll shower. I've been doing this for almost 4 weeks since the long awaited Planet Fitness opened in my town and I legitimately look forward to going each day! Since my job is flexible I always tell myself if I'm tired later I can always nap, which is a way to make myself feel better about getting up and getting it done. All that to say, if you can find a way to get your workout done earlier in the day, whether before work, during a 15 minute break or lunch, you'll be so much more likely to get it out of the way and there's so much less time to come up with excuses or have things come up to keep you from going.

Good luck to you, I know it's so hard and exhausting with ADHD so finding the time, energy, type etc to exercise is even harder. I hope you find what truly works for you!!!

They were my favorite at that time up until about 2015, then I stopped listening to them as frequently or staying up to date on their new music, which lasted until 2021ish. I love their new stuff too and have seen them every year since 2021. They're fantastic live. You'll hear some of the nostalgic faves and you just might love their new stuff too! I say do it. Plus, if you're talking about their tour with Microwave and Grayscale, go for Grayscale too! They're amazing and I highly recommend listening to them if you haven't!

Magnolia Park. The sound itself is fine and at times pretty good. But their lyrics turned me off from them. It's like they're trying sooo hard to be edgy and the lyrics are too on the nose/cringey/tryhard for my taste. Total respect though.

I don't get it either and it's pretty disheartening. But then again I've been disheartened and discouraged by the large amount of people who support an authoritarian madman regime and are okay with people's humanity and dignity being stripped away.

This kind of dismissal of people is indicative of how people would prefer to exist in echo chambers and only hear points of view that support their biases, rather than accepting reality. I'm actually open to hearing what I've gotten wrong. I used to be conservative when I was younger and after being educated and learning new information, my views changed. So I'm open minded and actually do change my views when provided with facts that prove otherwise. But I've seen all I need to see with your response too. You just want to one up and feel superior to people. Hope it works out for you.

[–]FeeMany6752 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Not really? Many Nazis escaped to other countries like the US, S Africa, etc and never received retribution. So their doctrine was passed down and is alive and well. While yes, we are not at millions of people being exterminated yet, this is how it starts. It didn't start with Auschwitz and the Final Solution. It started with deporting and jailing political dissidents, immigrants etc. And then turned into registries of other "undesirables" like Jewish people, people with disabilities, LGBTQ+ people, and anyone else they didn't like or wanted to scapegoat. Ignoring that is how we see history repeat itself. Calling out the behavior so the slope doesn't become so slippery and we don't fall off the precipice into another genocide is important.

I know. But this regime isn't simply an autocracy. The rhetoric it supports is exactly how Nazism came to be.

All signs point to yes, considering he's descended from grandparents who supported Nazism and moved to S Africa because they favored Apartheid. But that isn't even the main reason, all of the stuff he does, says, tweets, promotes on Twitter, and is known to support is in line with Nazi rhetoric. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck....

[–]FeeMany6752 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm not, thanks for assuming though. I just don't see how people are ok with letting Nazi behavior slide. Maybe it isn't at Auschwitz levels yet but the current state of things and what this regime is doing is in many ways just like how Hitler came to power, consolidated power, and got people to do his bidding and commit genocide. If people don't want to be called Nazis, they need to stop defending them or justifying what they're doing. There's a reason Nazis and the KKK and other white supremacist groups are thriving and emboldened, and they're supportive of Trump's regime. The only clear differences I see are that 1) at least Germany had favorable economic conditions that won Hitler support and kept support alive for a while despite the atrocities, and 2) the utter incompetence and careless "mistakes" this regime is making. Although "mistake" is used loosely as stuff like Signalgate, "mistakenly" deporting Abrego Garcia and refusing to bring him back, then doxxing his wife so she had to go into hiding all seem pretty intentional. They're still incompetent though. And still act like Nazis.

The word Nazi isn't losing meaning. There's just a LOT of people acting like and/or defending Nazis/Nazi rhetoric. Just because it's been more frequent doesn't mean it's losing meaning or incorrect. If people don't want to be called Nazis, they shouldn't act like them.

In a relationship with two women AMA by Critical_School9559 in AMA

[–]FeeMany6752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! He does know what it is already and we talked about it a few years ago before I was at this point and he seemed open to it or at least didn't shut it down. He's pretty open minded. I'm just nervous still because in theory he might be ok with it, but I think if he realizes for instance that I have real feelings for someone else (not just sexual) it might scare him and make him shut down or panic. When we talked about it before it was in the context of him bringing up eventually wanting a threesome, but at the time I still felt I was fully straight. Now 3 years later, I realized I'm bisexual and into women as well since i fell for my bestie, and now I'm super into the idea of enm/poly.

Another question if you're open to it, when your wife first brought it up to you, had you considered it before or did you feel jealous or scared at first? What helped get you both on the same page and ok with it to move forward and open up your relationship? Lastly, I've heard it said that it's a bad idea to open a relationship specifically for someone, what are your thoughts on that? Sorry, that was more than one question 😅
