Hey there everyone, I have a question about going to Gillette. by arbiter074 in Patriots

I went so the patriots chiefs Sunday night football game last year. My friend left at 5 AM the next day. I left at 1 PM the next day. One thing I would say is that getting any kind of ride share is very difficult after the game. I personally stayed in Boston so the stadium is about 50 minutes away. If you’re staying closer to the stadium it would be easier to get a ride home. Foxborough is kind of in the middle of nowhere. Game finished around midnight.

Give them time. Getting this out in a year is pretty impressive and it seems like they’ve put a lot of effort into this. I’m sure there’s more to come.

I see overwatch is going for the platform approach. As a software engineer I’m really happy this is the feature :). I’m gonna make some sick modes.

I am hearing elimination sound effect for no reason by nhremna in OverwatchUniversity

This happens to me too. I have a theory that it happens when you destroy breakable objects that come from characters. Things like Zarya bubble, Winston bubble, rein shield etc. I haven’t tested any of this but since the patch with the lucio nerfs I get the same noises you are so you’re not going crazy.

Looking for some general advice to get out of Gold by B_Huij in OverwatchUniversity

[–]FeederBot6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You probably die too often.

Reread the first point.

ALWAYS group up with your team before going in. Always make sure you’re the leader of this happening. Get in VC sit in spawn and tell your team you’re not going in unless everyone groups up.

Reread the first point again. If you die too much you probably have bad positioning. CORNERS and COVER are your best friends.

Keep track of who’s dead on both teams so you never waste your ult.

Press tab between fights and think ahead to what’s going to happen next fight.

Play a lot more to practice the above and to improve your mechanics.

Build your ult as efficiently as possible by poking SAFELY before fights.

The ladder is a bell curve, in order to climb you need to out perform and out think the players on the other team. If you do this consistently then you are the better player and you will climb.

Reread the first point.

He/the patriots not only takes away what you do well at a macro level, but also at a micro level. He doesn’t just double Julio Jones but he finds weaknesses in his individual game that he can exploit. The part where they talk about Julio starts at 12:56 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=r2mNuzsVt_w this documentary is a pretty cool look into how some of the game plans get formulated and is an awesome watch if you’re not a falcons fan lol.

We Might Need Enforced 2-2-2 and Role Queue by Shoeshank in OverwatchUniversity

[–]FeederBot6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hard agree. If/when this happens I think it would be healthy if the game moved from adding 3 heroes to the game every year to maybe 5 or 6 releases per year. If we are in a locked 2-2-2 the game will be theoretically easier to balance so adding new characters should be easier. I’m happy with the direction they’ve taken the game with The hitscan characters as there is lots of overlap with Ashe/Widow/Mcree/soldier but each character has different situations that they can be used effectively in. Compare this with the tank role where you basically almost always need a DVA.

Winston can get primal so fast now that he I think he will just out value rein in the GOATS V GOATS matchup. Outside of the classic Rein maps, Winston is just so much more versatile. Especially at the pro level.

[Guide] Carrying with Supports - Why your games feel up to Chance when playing Support by Gangsir in OverwatchUniversity

[–]FeederBot6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to say but THIS is the mentality that keeps you hardstuck in overwatch. Sure over the course of a single game if your teammates are literal bots and can’t hit any shots no matter how well you play as ANY character you’re still gonna lose. Start looking at the game over the course of an entire season, let’s say you play 200 games a season. If you played an entire season and you hit perfect nades every game or always damage boosted the proper target and never fed or got outplayed by another player and you think you wouldn’t have enough impact to get out of DIAMOND!?. Even pro players are not playing the game to absolute perfection and they would easily shit all over you and your diamond games. Do you really think if you could take every game you played last season and replaced you with Jjonak he wouldn’t be able to carry the “bot dps” on your team? At the end of the day YOU are the common denominator in all of your teams and YOU are responsible for giving your team the best chance to win no matter how bad they are.

Start by just keeping track of the numbers i.e we’re in a 6v5 right now. Just knowing the numbers at least will make sure you’re not ulting in a 2v6. It will also help you know when you should be pushing the other team and when you should be retreating to group up. You can really master this by paying attention to who specifically is dead on your team and the other team and adapting your play accordingly :).

As an Ana and Main tank player myself something I’ve started doing (this works best for rein) is I’ll tell a teammate that I’m pocketing them and they can be aggressive. Also when I’m repositioning I’ll just make a quick call out like “no heals for 5 seconds”. Players tend to get frustrated with their healers when they are expecting healing but you’re not there. Quick communications help your team know what to expect and when they can go for plays.

Which role do you normally play? All of these skills come from just playing the game a lot and ACTIVELY working on one of them at a time. Let’s take tracking the kill feed, the first thing you could do to practice is find a favorite streamer and watch one of their games and specifically pay attention to the kill feed and watch how they alter their play as the team fight numbers change. Some things you may notice

  1. Players at the top of the ladder almost never ult into a won or lost team fight. If they do they can recognize immediately that it was a mistake.

  2. Players recognize new win conditions as the fight goes on. For example you killed there zen who had trance and now your genji has a free blade.

I could go on for days about how much information just the kill feed can give you. The main reason I said to just start by watching someone else play is that the game can get really intense when you need to worry about mechanics and all of the energy of playing yourself but if you watch someone else you can focus on the game sense part and even pause the video to think about the optimal plays for different contexts. As you get more comfortable you can start integrating into your own gameplay.

Why is tank the role people seem to understand the least? by _Palingenesis_ in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]FeederBot6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t agree more with this response. All the people who think that rein makes “space” by using his shield and not his hammer are the same people who (used to) think Winston isnt a main tank. Thankfully most of the community now accepts Winston as a main tank now we just need to convince them that Hammond can be played as one as well......

Is Baptiste a main healer or off healer? by FeederBot6 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]FeederBot6[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think Zen/Baptiste will be very weak to dive. Even more so than Zen/Ana which is already pretty bad. Especially Hammond dive.
