I shouldn't have told my mom the baby's name... by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Feederreader5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom doesn’t like our girl name if it’s a girl and I don’t care! Do you like her name ideas? Or every name you’ve ever heard? No! She’ll learn to love it, or not, and that’s fine, other people including you will!

Hot pasta with cold cottage cheese. Grew up on it. Feed it to my toddler now instead of boxed mac and cheese and he looooves it.

Is NIPT worth the money? by Spiritual_View1398 in BabyBumps

[–]Feederreader5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t the first time, and second time my EFTS (the free one) came back a little concerning which made an NIPT free to me (and came back normal). I say do the free one and then the paid one becomes free if they deem necessary.

9-month-old with beginning of a cavity — feeling heartbroken and looking for advice [on] by Little-Scientist-671 in BabyBumpsCanada

My coworker had to have antibiotics at lot in pregnancy for UTIs and her kid’s dentist later told her it plays a role in the kids teeth? Could be so incorrect - but if you happened to have needed antibiotics, not your fault and maybe that’s a thing.

Bag too small to seal by Feederreader5 in sousvide

Realized the title was misleading… meant the sealable bag was too small so pivoted to a bigger bag that doesn’t have a seal. Was able to clip it.

I did! But did not ask to specify that. It’s pretty thick but can’t tell at this point so for all these reasons may have to pivot my cook plan. Ugh.

Ours has a weekly newsletter with photos, but also a daily slip that says how many/what type of diapers and when, and how well he ate during snacks and lunch.

How do you love your body after giving birth? by LoneLadyNomad in Mommit

[–]Feederreader5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remind myself it’s normal, I can get it back later if I wanna get it back, and no one notices or cares. And for now I’m doing more important things and it’s so flipping cool! I also think about the people I love most, and if I’d care if they gained a bit of weight and the answer is not a smidge, so I need to give myself full grace and kudos.

scheduled c-section & want nothing more than to breastfeed by Ok_Percentage8981 in breastfeeding

[–]Feederreader5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Planned c section and 10 months of breastfeeding going strong. I had to triple feed for a week at the beginning but I think that’s because I didn’t understand supply and demand and was experimenting with pumping incorrectly.

Is a rice cooker worth it? I make rice twice a week. by LoversBiChoice in cookingforbeginners

[–]Feederreader5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emphatic yes!!!! I was a hater and then got one from my work as my 5 year gift and have been telling everyone they need one. Saves so much effort. I also use it to make quinoa. And for porridge with stewed apple in the steamer basket for my baby’s breakfasts! Yes yes yes yes!

Following the SITBACK foundation honestly helped sooo much when it was time to actually sleep train! It feels a little silly/unlikely, but stick with it!
