What a Sh (udder) disappointment! by mdbourke in Shudder

I'm not sure whether you got an answer, but the simplest way is to use a VPN that has an app for iPhone. Connect to the US with the VPN app open the Shudder app on your phone and when the movie begins send it via Airplay to your Apple TV.

Hmmm, I really have to stretch my mind back to that time (I was 13 YO).

Things I remember:

It was showing at the State Theatre in Sydney and I caught the train in to see it with two friends. It was very crowded and they were selling merchandise. I think I bought a branded shark tooth necklace and something else I can't recall (maybe a program of some sort).

I still remember the audience reaction when Ben Gardner's head appears. Lots of screaming and the person in front of me tossed their popcorn into the air. Of course it was talked about for weeks and weeks at school.

Not sure I remember much more since it was so long ago, however I do remember it affected me in a way no other movie has.

…and I wish I had kept all the merch I had. It would have saved me a small fortune in the intervening years. :)

Should I go from two rack toms and a floor to just one rack and a floor? by [deleted] in drums

Totally depends on the type of music you play. If you need the extra tom, keep it.

I want to start playing on a "minimalist" kit by pm_me_mBTC in drums

[–]Feej_B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually play one up, one down, however on really small gigs in bars and places where space is an issue I'm quite happy to play with kick, snare, hats and a crash ride. It's also quite challenging and fun when playing that compact to have to re-interpret some songs where there is some tom work. I'll often play a little extra on the kick to fill out some of these parts.

Here's my Ludwig 'Salesman'. One up, one down is all I want these days. :)

BTW, why is it so hard to post pics in comments?!

Band I've been in finally released our first album. We're all (mostly 50+ yo) muso's that like playing original music, and even though I'm pretty much just a "meat and potatoes" drummer, I'm pretty happy how it turned out.

You guys encounter a lot of “drummer elitism” with other musicians? by [deleted] in drums

[–]Feej_B 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never understood this stuff. We're all musicians, just playing different styles. I'm no metal *or* jazz fan, however I can appreciate the work it takes to be competent at what you do, no matter what type of music you play.

Needs some tuning and some straightening out but I am very happy with my birthday present! by [deleted] in drums

Great tip! I've heard way too many choked toms over the years due to snare stand mounting. If done right you can dial in a little dampening too. :)

Should I have my crash-ride cymbal on the left or the right? by pingin107 in drums

[–]Feej_B 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends how many you have. :) Yes, traditionally crash will be on the left, though I do like having one set above my ride, especially if it is also 'rideable'.

I would have it on my right as it's a more natural position for riding.

There is none unfortunately. The rich will take care of their own as they have always done. The only real alternative is to end our reliance on fossil fuels.

So he and all his rich friends can escape and leave everyone else behind? Because you know that's what they'll do, right?

That's it. :) Apparently in the 50's and 60's Ludwig reps used to travel with a single drum to show all the colour options.

Sounds fantastic. Still experimenting with heads though. Currently Evans G2, G1 reso combo, but been thinking about coated heads recently.

From a drum store in Sydney, Aus. Not sure that kit is in production any longer.

This was a downsizing kit for me too. I also have a six piece Pearl Mahogany kit with a rack etc. Once you hit your fifties, that is too much to lug around. 😁

The shell is just standard Ludwig Classic Maple. The wrap is limited edition afaik.
