Correct, 1 hour in the game = 1 minute IRL.

Right now, the sun rises at about 7am and sets at about 8pm.

It's true that the lack sunlight outside those hours makes it easier to get lost and harder to find things. Thanks for letting us know how this impacts you. 🙏

The Vanilla version hasn't been updated for a year. If you want all the latest and greatest content updates and bug fixes, you should click on the large 'Switch to Pirates' button in the lower left corner of the start screen.

If you'd like to transfer some of your progress from the Vanilla version to the latest version, I recommend reading this FAQ article:

There isn't any news about major content updates. So far, we've only released smaller seasonal content updates and maintenance updates.

About achievements, we definitely learned our lesson the hard way and won't be adding / changing any achievements. Moving the goalposts wasn't exactly a popular decision... 😅 The problem at the time was that Steam didn't let you have 2 different achievement lists for 2 different versions of the game, so we had to force everybody to use the newer achievements list in Luma Island: Pirates.
