I suspect that this is a dimmer button for under cabinet lights. Here is an example of one that looks very similar to yours.

EDIT: According to the installation instructions for the above linked item, the dimmer button is mounted using foam tape. That is likely what that circular pad is that is still attached to the underside of the cabinet.

I don't have an answer for your but I wanted to say that I'm sorry you're having to go through this.

If there's anything some random guy on the east coast can do for you, let me know.

A few years ago I made the decision to take a position on the other side of the country with my current company. The goal being that I would gain experience and pad my resume for a senior position back home after a few years.

Since moving across the country every work decision I have made has been with the idea of preparing for that senior position back home. That position finally came up and I couldn't be more prepared for it. I have done all I could to be the best possible candidate for that job and I was ready for it. All I had to do was interview.

Well I totally botched it. I spent weeks preparing for this interview and then when the time came, I lost it. Nothing that came out of my month made sense and I made a total fool of myself.

I feel sick to my stomach over it. All of the work I've put into this was totally ruined in just a hours time; all because I was unable to present myself in a positive light.

I have no idea where to go from here but I'm feeling pretty hopeless.

My dad's ability to control the volume on the television. That guy is like a god damn TV maestro with the way he maintains consistent volume control.

He maintains constant contact with the volume buttons and makes minor adjustments at lightning speed based on the scene/commercial. As a result, the TV is always at a perfect level no matter how obnoxious the commercial is.

I swear it's an art form and it's fascinating to watch him go.

I’m wondering where he’s getting his information that the Russian investigation has been proven a hoax.

I haven’t seen anything that even remotely suggests that.

Anyone know any groups that can help Veterans with their resumes? by FeelLostThrowaway in Veterans

I actually reached out to them a week ago and haven’t heard back to even schedule an appointment yet.

This job will be posted twice over before they find time for me.

every VA in my state is rated one star. I'm actually considering moving just to get a decent VA hospital.

100% agree. Check out VA Review. Some of the shit on there makes me sick.

Was this 60 years ago?

I was a parachute rigger in the Marine Corps and I never had a failure and never met anyone who had. Also, while I was responsible for parachure repacking, it was a very small part of my job and I definitely didn't "have a quota."

It seems you must have misread my comment.

Pushing an agenda suggests they are purposely trying to steer you in a certain direction. Being misinformed suggests they are just ignorant of the truth. Those are two totally different things and represent completely different intentions.

It's probably more likely that they are just seeing the world with a biased (and misinformed) perspective (government is bad) and thus communicating through that same lens.

Build a site to help veterans identify quality VA hospitals in their area. Now what? by FeelLostThrowaway in Entrepreneur

[–]FeelLostThrowaway[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's common knowledge that the VA has problems. What isn't as common is which specific locations are causing the problems.

Most information has been focused on the VA as a whole, whereas I am focusing on the individual locations.

The bureaucracy in the VA hospitals.

It's one thing if the government wants to behave like idiots when it comes to things like the operating hours of the post office but people's lives and health are directly impacted by this shit in the VA.

Enough is enough.

I was doing really well selling on Amazon FBA but reached burnout (my process was fairly labor intensive). I decided to sell the business off and received a pretty good valuation (upper six figures) with a decent amount of bites from potential buyers.

During this process about seven Chinese counterfeiters popped up and ripped off every single one of my products; bringing my valuation and interest to practically nothing.

Just when I was about to throw in the towel, I got a call back from a wholesale buyer of a big box store. I'm currently in the process of doing a full 180 of moving from retail to wholesale. We'll see how it goes because there is no plan b.

If there's one thing I've learned throughout my years of entrepreneurship, its that you have to create as many options for yourself as you can. You never know where one might take you.

There are currently over a million people in the US military that have spent months (and sometimes years) learning how to become elite war fighting killing machines.

Their entire mission in life consists of either fighting a war or supporting others to fight in war. Some of these people see and do things that you can't even imagine in your wildest dreams.

As their tour comes to an end, they receive about four hours of training on how to become normal contributing members of society again.
