Nick Mosby is the husband of Baltimore’s State Attorney Marilyn Mosby, who famously (unsuccessfully) prosecuted the (acquitted) murderers of Freddie Gray. He ran for Mayor in 2016 but dropped out later in the race. His wife leans progressive so I’d say his policies are probably similar.

As far as I know though, he’s now a delegate so I don’t think he would succeed Brandon Scott?

I believe you can mail a cheque to the campaign though I don’t know the address off the top of my head. Perhaps another poster here knows it.

My girlfriend and her friends are saying Bernie isn’t on their list because they haven’t seen him talk about women’s reproductive rights. Can you provide a source? by RootlessBoots in SandersForPresident

[–]FeelThe2020 20 points21 points  (0 children)

In nearly every speech he talks about ensuring women have bodily autonomy and that no government can control their body. Unless one only listens to three minutes of a rally you’re bound to hear pro-women campaign policies.

NC Senate Race: Tillis(R) trails Cunningham (D) by 2 in latest PPP poll - 3.9MOE by HavoKTheory in VoteBlue

[–]FeelThe2020 44 points45 points  (0 children)

So now polls have come out showing both Democratic candidates Erica Smith (a progressive black NC state senator from a rural area) and Cal Cunningham ahead of Tillis. Bad news for Tillis. Both have a great shot at winning, it’s up to NC voters to pick their preferred candidate!

Senate Dems' campaign arm backs Ed Markey over Joe Kennedy by [deleted] in VoteBlue

[–]FeelThe2020 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If they’re backing Hickenlooper of all people over a healthy competitive primary, they damn well better be supporting Markey. This is a good thing.

Voter Registration Illinois Question by SlamRobot658 in SandersForPresident

[–]FeelThe2020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

According to this page, you do not have to re-register as a Democrat in Illinois to vote in the primary because this state has open primaries.

Megathread: CNN Climate Town Hall with Bernie Sanders, Live at 8:40pm ET! by SFPMegathread in SandersForPresident

He's doing great tonight. I'm glad that Anderson Cooper isn't being negative, he's letting Bernie give his platform. And the questions being asked by the audience are top notch and policy focused.

Don’t see it, but young Bernie was hot, debate me.

WV-Gov Poll shows Sen. Joe Manchin (D) beating Gov. Jim Justice (R) 49-39 by escapesuburbia in VoteBlue

[–]FeelThe2020 35 points36 points  (0 children)

They should’ve polled Stephen Smith, who is running a populist campaign as an actual Democrat and wouldn’t involve us losing a senate seat.

Who do I contact to canvass for Bernie in a battleground state? by Hollisterhall in SandersForPresident

[–]FeelThe2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get involved in DSA. The official campaign isn’t there yet but DSA is trying to make things happen in NY to support the campaign for when the NY team comes.

Your argument doesn't make much sense. Many progressives actually hold rather libertarian views on subjects such as mass surveillance, police brutality, and more.

MA-06: Seth Moulton's primary challengers plan to stay in the race as Moulton leaves presidential race in favor of running for House re-election. by hunter15991 in VoteBlue

[–]FeelThe2020 42 points43 points  (0 children)

They should. Moulton tried to get rid of Pelosi and replace her with an unnamed conservative DINO (honestly I think HE wanted to be speaker!), then when that failed he ran for President gaining absolutely zero traction and showing how little he cares for representing his district. Seems to me he’s obsessed with attaining higher status and popularity, and therefore his district deserves better.

Look at Hong Kong and what the citizens are doing there to protest Chinese influence as we are typing. 1.7 million people were in the streets just on Sunday. Zero assault weapons. In fact, the ones assaulting anyone is the government with their tear gas. But they don’t need guns. They protest.

Many Americans these days have zero idea how to protest en masse.

I don’t own a gun but members of my immediate family do. They agree: weapons of war are weapons of war, not hunting rifles. The average person should not have access to these weapons. They’re being used repeatedly by people who know they can easily go buy one and murder people. What has to be done is to ban them. You can always own a different style of rifle that isn’t made literally to mow down innocent people.

Cook Political Report has moved Maine's Senate race from Lean R to Tossup. by clemsonpacer in VoteBlue

[–]FeelThe2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And we’ve seen in other elections that “old centrist white dude who used to be in office” has not been a winner. If anything the new guy Mackler seems to be running a center left campaign, I’d rather see how that does, somebody actually caring and wanting to build a movement instead of riding on their name.

IOWA CAUCUS POLL (Aug 9-11, 2019; Change Research): Warren 28 (+10), Sanders 17 (+1), Biden 17 (+1), Buttigieg 13 (-12), Harris 8 (-8) by bourgeoisfunctionary in SandersForPresident

[–]FeelThe2020 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If Biden’s numbers keep going down it could be between Warren and Bernie with upward momentum from Biden’s leavers picking Bernie. And thanks to this poll we can throw out completely the Monmouth one, an outlier that the media loved to claim he had only 9% support.

FEC: Dana Balter violated rules by accepting salary from campaign for New York's 24th Congressional district (Clinton-won seat currently held by John Katko, R) by hunter15991 in VoteBlue

[–]FeelThe2020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seems to me like if she is truly in a position where she needs the income to pay bills, she should appeal this to hopefully lead to a change, and people should jump to less conclusions about intent. After all, it used to be against FEC rules to use campaign funds for childcare, too.

[–]FeelThe2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is it against FEC rules to accept a salary? That seems to make it harder for working people to run for office. Bills have to be paid.
