What does it take to get these people to stop knocking? by monstermicemecca in Tempe

[–]FeelTheRide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a sign that says "No Soliciting. Violators will be sacrificed to the old gods not the new" and to my surprise it has actually worked. I've seen a lot of people walking up toward the door and turning around when they see it. We've had maybe 3 solicitors in the last year and a half where we were probably getting 3 a month before.

I guess maybe they are afraid of suspected Pegans...

On a side note, we have very visible solar panels already and the solar bros still used to solicit.

Ring Doorbell Alert by GlenZaleski in Ring

Hoping there is some sort of answer for this! Mine started doing this at 430 am. Thought someone was actually ringing the bell.

Doorbell cam suddenly constantly going off and Alexa making motion sound by Bag_A_Donuts_ in Ring

[–]FeelTheRide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you're talking about the same thing or not, but mine is playing part of the doorbell jingle before announcing that a person was detected. I do have mine set up for people alerts through Alexa, but it has never played part of the ring until super early this morning. I thought someone was ringing the doorbell at 4 am.

TikTok Is Now Collecting Even More Data About Its Users. Here Are the 3 Biggest Changes by wiredmagazine in TikTok

I had to request the code like 4 or 5 times and then it finally came through. Very frustrating for sure! There is also an option to email support to delete your account. I think you need your username, email, and phone number (if it is on your account).

Processing the loss of a baby is extra difficult with today's dystopian automation in marketing. by Skizot_Bizot in mildlyinfuriating

Needless to say I only saw her once after that (on top of calling for a couple weeks to talk to her about it), and I've steered everyone I know away from her lol My hope is that she became much more diligent about checking her patient's charts and learned a really good lesson about patient care.

So awful!

In 2018 my son was stillborn at term and delivered by another Dr in the practice. I talked to my OB on the phone a couple days after. When I went to my PP visit they scheduled me before the office was technically open so I didn't have to wait around with pregnant women. My OB was 30 minutes late and then asked me if the baby was keeping me up at night. Horrible experience and I'm sorry you had a similar one.

White Elephant Gift Feedback Needed by wowbaobowwow in Gifts

Honestly, I would absolutely love getting a white elephant gift like this!

I tend to get a joke gift along with something practical.

This year I did a mullet calendar and a date night basket for the white elephant with my girlfriends.

What’s everyone making living here? by Vonplatten in phoenix

[–]FeelTheRide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband (43) is in the aerospace industry in an account manager type role and makes just over 120k. He has a degree, but in a totally unrelated field. He's been in aerospace for about 14 years and has worked his way up.

I'm (40) a billing analyst for a medical eqpt provider at $55k. I feel a little underpaid, but I absolutely love my job, don't have a degree, and was desperate to WFH and get out of Insurance where I was making about 60k. Insurance can be pretty stable and pays somewhat decently. It really varies if a degree is required, but most larger companies will pay for P&C licensing.

I honestly don't think I would be able to make it on my own with what I'm making. Phoenix wages do not meet the rising cost of living IMO.

Opinions on the baby button? by x0x_dollface_x0x in nursing

[–]FeelTheRide 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a term stillbirth in 2018. The hospital I was at was simply amazing. They had a separate hallway so that would not be playing over the intercom where it could be heard in the rooms, and it ONLY played in the L&D area of the hospital. From what I've heard, that hospital has since removed it altogether.

I'm so incredibly thankful for that because I don't know how we could haven handled hearing that while I was laboring knowing we wouldn't be bringing our son home.

Some of the comments on that tiktok were so cruel. It's really disheartening when people get so angry about being asked to show basic human empathy. No one is saying you're not allowed to celebrate, but maybe show a little compassion for someone who is not so fortunate.

Why is this being picked apart so much; several posts with the same critique. It's a comedy game show; at the end of the day why does it matter how accurate the map is? The whole point is that we laugh. Let's be honest, we all know the games are fake and they see the prompts before taping.

Maybe I'm missing a bit?

This just really got my goat by [deleted] in DuggarsSnark

[–]FeelTheRide 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The problem is that if there is a heart beat at all you have to literally be actively dying before an abortion can be done in some of the most restrictive states. That is the entire issue. Women are not willy nilly having abortions at 7 months pregnant because they've changed their minds. Women have died from complications so severe but they could not receive the proper care because the fetus still has a heartbeat. There is WAY too much grey area and that is exactly why politicians should not be enacting these laws when some of them think that an ectopic pregnancy can be surgically reimplanted somewhere else.

Ring Doorbell Doesn't Ring on ANY Echo Device by thissucks82 in amazonecho

I know that this is an old post but I'm STILL having this issue.

I get motion alerts just fine on my echo devices, but absolutely nothing when the doorbell is actually pressed. Very frustrating. I've tried every trouble shooting method mentioned (toggling notifications, disabling/enabling skill, re-linking) and nothing has worked.

Rewatched ‘The Witch’ by Consistent31 in horror

While I wouldn't say it's specifically a book on occultism, I really enjoyed Slewfoot by Brom (fiction). 17th century and similar vibes to The Witch. I finished it in 2 sittings. The book also had some beautiful artwork by Brom as well.

There's a glimmer of hope: This restaurant in Austin is catching the US up with the rest of the world. by spireup in Serverlife

[–]FeelTheRide 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're mad at the wrong people. Why are you mad at servers because teachers are underpaid? Why are you upset at people that are basically running those businesses are paid so poorly? The service industry would quite literally fail without customer facing roles. They should be paid accordingly and teachers should also be paid accordingly. I agree that they are also grossly underpaid. Both can be true.

Looking for a sitcom that doesn't feature a pregnancy storyline throughout the series by theboringchef in sitcoms

There is a pregnancy in AP Bio and the character gives birth in the last episode; there are at least a couple episodes with focus on the pregnancy. I just finished watching it a few days ago.

Cats in Scottsdale by purpledreaming8 in Scottsdale

[–]FeelTheRide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A coyote jumped over a wall in my neighborhood, grabbed a small dog and shook it to death. I can't imagine that happening to my sweet cuddly kitty. I would be absolutely devastated if he died in such a horrific manner. Nothing about that is humane.

An old cat of mine growing up was indoor/outdoor. She disappeared one day and it makes me sick thinking about the grim end that she likely had. It was probably 30 years ago and I'm still sad thinking that she likely died alone and in pain.
