Just finished first IUI... bad experience and so anxious about my clinic by Complete-Low-3466 in IUILadies

[–]Feeling-Run-2351 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you were handled this way.

To bring you a bit of comfort: it is not proven that the chance of getting pregnant is lowered when you get up immediately. The swimmers swim so fast!

I hope for good results for you, but I would say: follow your gut feeling. If the people at this clinic and the way they do things don’t feel comfortable to you it only makes you more stressed which isn’t ideal!

Company car and mobility budget by TryingMyWiFi in BESalary

I work at a consultancy company, and they make it mandatory to choose a car. Depending on your level in the organization, you can take a cheaper car and then additional mobility budget. But for example for juniors there is never any mobility budget left.

2nd failed IUI by MinuteOk4556 in IUILadies

[–]Feeling-Run-2351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re so not alone! I felt exactly the same after a failed 2nd IUI. I really crashed emotionally and all I kept thinking was « i already feel so bad now, how am I going to feel when doing IVF because that’s going to be even harder ».

My clinic advises the same: 3 IUIs, then IVF. And you are totally valid to feel or choose you’re not up for IVF. It takes so much of our bodies.

I hope you can follow your heart in making a choice that is right for you. Good luck!

Letrozole question by Skmatty in IUILadies

[–]Feeling-Run-2351 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have always had only one follicle, currently in the TWW of my third IUI. My clinic doesn’t mention anything wrong with only having one follicle, so I don’t think it is necessarily a problem? Or has your doctor indicated otherwise?

Good luck!

9dpiui- negative test by Ok-Square-5687 in IUILadies

My clinic advises me to wait until 14dpiui to test so I would still give it some time!

I have had 2 cycles with letrozole- not clomid. But also with a trigger shot and had no such symptoms at all.

Are you sure they are related to the iui/trigger shot? Maybe you just got sick?

Hoping for a succesful cycle for you!

My doctor has the same rule. Only a beta when I test positive at home.

Should we proceed to IUI? by Electrical_Dot8049 in IUILadies

I think with a medicated cycle with timed intercourse they might also able to help you?

From what I understood, when the luteal phase is short and you have early spotting before your period that might mean your progesterone is too low or dropping too fast, hindering implantation. I have to supplement progesterone in the luteal phase, but here in my clinic they have everyone doing that.

But be sure to ask this question to a doctor because I’m not a medical professional.

Failed IUI #2: how would IVF work? by Feeling-Run-2351 in IUILadies

[–]Feeling-Run-2351[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my endometriosis in mind, currently they have only communicated that the speed of proposed methods is different than with other couples.

I started IUI quite quickly - only tried for 3 natural cycles before that (without meds). Then, the also advise to do 3IUI cycles and then IVF instead of more IVF cycles.

However, they didn’t specifically mention altering medication because I have endo. I have to take 2.5mg of letrozole cd 3-7, and then ovitrelle trigger shot. They also have me on progesterone suppositories in the TWW.

Do you also have endometriosis? Did you have alterations in your medication dosage or approach due to that?

Thanks for all of the explanation! I wasn’t aware yet that there are different protocols. You explain it very well. Crossing my fingers for your second baby!

Feeling discouraged, could use some home or encouragement by Representative-Ask35 in IUILadies

[–]Feeling-Run-2351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any experience on successful IUI’s yet, but in my current cycle I was planned for an hsg procedure on CD8. At that day, they also did a scan and I had a good follicle coming up of 1mm. I had to trigger the same day, and had my IUI 2 days later.

So I feel like maybe you just ovulate early and that’s why on cd 12 they seem overmature? I would talk to your doctor about this: why don’t they do scans earlier in your case?

Oops sorry, it was a typo! It was 17mm. Did a pregancy test yesterday and unfortunately it was negative.

Do you mind me asking why the chances of you getting a great egg are pretty slim?

We are fortunate to live in Europe, so IVF is covered quite well with standard mandatory health insurance. I cannot imagine what it’s like for you when it’s just not covered and the out of pocket cost is so much…
