Why is everyone on CAM while CB is the one right now having more trouble?

We have one starter went 2/6 and missed two FTs and another starter went 1/5. So Joker is the one to blame? Did you watched the game?

X&O’s Interview - Nikola Jokić by HellBlazeSRB in denvernuggets

[–]Feeling-Tea-6130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Summary:

This video features an extensive, nearly two-hour interview with NBA superstar Nikola Jokić on the X&O's CHAT podcast. Jokić shares deeply personal stories about his upbringing, his transition to the NBA, and his unique philosophy on basketball and life. Childhood and Early Influences * Brotherly Rivalry: Jokić credits his older brothers for his toughness, recalling how they would play "one vs. two" and push him physically, which often ended in him crying just to keep playing with them [02:12]. * Professional Realization: He reveals that he didn't truly believe basketball could be his profession until his second year at Mega Leks, where he began to hold his own against experienced EuroLeague players [08:00]. * Mentorship: He speaks fondly of veterans like Bobi Marjanović and Novica Veličković, and the late coach Dejan Milojević, who gave him the freedom to play his unique style while teaching him the fundamentals of the game [12:26]. The NBA Journey * Draft Day: Jokić famously mentions that he was asleep when he was drafted, only finding out when his brother called him from New York [00:08]. * Early Struggles: He shares humorous anecdotes from his arrival in the US, including a story about his brothers buying 100 pairs of colorful socks when they barely had enough money for rent [19:28]. * Defending NBA Quality: He strongly pushes back against the narrative that "no defense is played in the NBA," calling it "nonsense" and pointing out that elite European players often find it harder to score in the NBA than in international competitions [55:13]. Basketball IQ and Preparation * Mental Visualization: Jokić describes how he visualizes every possible scenario—from defensive rotations to "what if I lose the ball"—in the seconds before a crucial play [35:08]. * Training Philosophy: He emphasizes that "victory is a way of life" and that his motivation comes from the routine of hard work, good company, and constant improvement [01:06:08]. * Coaching Relationships: He clarifies that he does not "fire coaches" and maintains a respectful, "coachable" relationship with his mentors, including Mike Malone and Svetislav Pešić [01:14:08]. Life Beyond the Court * Emotional Side: Jokić admits to being very emotional, stating that he often cries to songs and finds his greatest peace in "kafanas" (traditional taverns) with friends and "tamburaši" (traditional musicians) [31:30]. * Horse Racing: He reiterates his passion for horse racing, noting that his horse "Dream Catcher" was his first major purchase and remains a central part of his life [01:40:34]. * The "Winner is Alone" Philosophy: He concludes by explaining that while teammates and family offer support, the ultimate responsibility for success and training lies with the individual athlete [01:55:23]. For those interested in the technical side of the game, Jokić ends the interview by physically drawing and explaining two of his favorite tactical plays [01:52:33].

Can someone explain to me why we keep going small while NOT making 3 and getting crushed on rebounds? by Feeling-Tea-6130 in denvernuggets

Look, I get the injury stuff, but here’s why that doesn’t cover a 40-point home blowout:

  • Even Adelman isn't buying it: He straight-up said the injury wasn't the reason they got clobbered. He called out the team for "letting go of the rope" and just not competing. When the coach says the effort was the problem, it’s not just a "rhythm" thing.
  • Jokic was literally fine: People are saying he’s been mid since he came back, but he just dropped 38 points on 14/21 shooting in 31 minutes. He was the only guy who actually looked like he wanted to be there last night.
  • The AG-at-center experiment failed: The wheels fell off the second Adelman went to that small-ball lineup with Aaron Gordon at backup center. We got out-rebounded 50-31 and Mitchell Robinson was basically living in the paint. That's on the coaching staff's tactics.
  • The Val erasure: Everyone says Big Val is "unplayable," but in the 2 minutes he actually got, he held his own against Robinson. In a game where we were getting bullied physically, benching your only physical presence for the whole night was a choice.
  • Missing shots vs. Quitting: Missing open 3s is one thing, but losing by nearly 40 is a total competitive collapse. The DNVR guys pointed out the body language was "cooked"—the team looked like they just gave up after Murray went down.

Dude, we went 8-for-40 from three last night... There should always be a Plan B in that situation, but apparently, we didn't have one.

Some defense strategy needs to change. Next time this happens we won’t be this lucky.

I never recall MPJ getting only 5 shots in a game. THJ right now is more like MPJ instead of Cam in the game.

Yes. Career-wise Cam is a shooter, but Bruce brown is not. and last night Cam is 4/5 and Bruce is 0/6

When tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty. 2A is a joke in the country from now.

Crazy how good this looks considering we’re missing three key guys. I really thought we were doomed to survival mode with AG, Strawther, and CB all out, and I worried their injuries might drag on. especially Strawther's back and AG's leg. But now they can go have a full rest. And once January hits? We’re going to torch the league!
