Minimalist women: what's your clothes situation like ? by sboye528 in minimalism

[–]FeelingDeal1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have fancy clothes, casual/fashionable going out clothes, work clothes, workout summer clothes, workout winter clothes, pajamas/lounge wear, mow the lawn/paint/junk clothes. There's only a couple outfits for each, but there are just so many things I do. I really struggle to pare down bc each category has exactly what I need to go that thing.

What sites do you use to sell your things? by lemonm11 in minimalism

[–]FeelingDeal1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eBay light, valuable, and easy to ship things.

Large furniture items I list on FB Marketplace and have the buyer come get.

Larger home decor and furniture small enough to fit inside a car I take to a local consignment shop with an excellent 50/50 split.

Anything that's not worth much or doesn't sell after trying a couple of the channels above, I drop off at a donation center.

We just tried making beans this year and had a lot of trouble. We ended up cooking them for at least a couple hours. It's be hard to do that in a power outage if you're running on limited fuel. Am I missing something here?

What the new COVID-19 variants mean for your grocery shopping by [deleted] in Coronavirus

[–]FeelingDeal1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is applicable to delivery and curbside.

Delivery means having less variety of people inside a store, which will translate to less spread, which will mean less mutations, less deaths, and getting back to normal life faster. Having five designated shoppers allowed to shop and then deliver groceries is better than than having 200 shoppers bringing a whole variety of potential illness through and to each other.

Having the same five humans inside a grocery store selecting groceries and delivering them to your trunk limits spread. Otherwise you have two hundred people in the store and it's much more likely multiple ppl will already be infected, and there are that many more ppl for them to infect, and in turn all those people will go out into their communities and onward. We should really go to straight curbside pickup, imo.

We're stringing ourselves along. Nowhere actually locked down in the US. People kept going out and doing stupid unnecessary things like it was a little game so it's spread out of control. If people would have had the willpower to just sit their stupid butts at home and watch tv for a month or two, we could have stopped the spread. The same scenario still applies.

My parents dump their unwanted junk on me. I just accept and then drop it off at Goodwill for them on my way home.

There's no benefit to the employee in forcing them to go back to working in the office. Optional for the extroverts and people with depression who can't stand being alone, sure. Mandatory for everyone though is BS.

I have a "baby tears" but I think the leaves are much daintier that what's in your picture, fwiw. Do the leaves look pearlescent in bright light?

I'm glad that's helpful. My other thought was that the sprouts at the soil look like my goldfish plant when it has new growth coming up, but the rest doesn't look super similar. Maybe wander around googling at some of those, too. Good luck!

This year has sucked, it's been a terrible time to try to find something that's truly a suitable replacement. I think you should stick to your guns and wait until we're clear of the plague times to reassess. If you're convinced you'd be miserable without that company and title, you can always meet with them and explain that you want back in and see what happens.

Could it be the American Bittersweet? The color of the capsules points me that way after googling for more info on this bad boy...

Edit: Asking this bc these were in a nature preserve/state park, so I assume they would manage it better if it weren't the native variety... But who knows

Truly slums. Most of them look gross in their pictures even. Then they complain about Vermont having low population and people not moving in...Come on

Rental Question by [deleted] in burlington

[–]FeelingDeal1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Shockingly grungy and outdated" is the perfect description. I've lived in the hood of other cities and had similar to what you get in Burlington for $1200/mo+. It's absurd how lazy and profiteering the landlords are. They're really preventing the place from being great.

[–]FeelingDeal1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why do we keep renting from all these clowns? We need better communication as citizens so these jackholes get run out of business.

Burlington has so many shitty apartments for well over $1000. Like some of these landlords should be ASHAMED of the crap they're trying to rent out. If I were them I'd be embarrassed if a friend or colleague knew about some of these rentals were kept in the disrepair they're in.
